RvP has announced on his own website that he is not extending his contract.

Seems the two buys were replacements and not to play with him. Assuming we cash in.

EDIT: His website is getting absolutely hammered so I can't get a link but it's all over twitter.

This is an update for the fans about my current situation. I have kept quiet all this time out of respect and loyalty for the club and as agreed with Mr. Gazidis and Mr. Wenger, but since there is so much speculation in the media, I think it is fair for you guys to know what’s really going on at the moment.

As announced earlier this year I had a meeting with the Boss and Mr. Gazidis after the season. This was a meeting about the club’s future strategy and their policy. Financial terms or a contract have not been discussed, since that is not my priority at all.

I personally have had a great season but my goal has been to win trophies with the team and to bring the club back to its glory days. Out of my huge respect for Mr. Wenger, the players and the fans I don’t want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward.

I’ve thought long and hard about it, but I have decided not to extend my contract. You guys, the fans, have of course the right to disagree with my view and decision and I will always respect your opinions.

I love the club and the fans, no matter what happens. I have grown up and became a man during my time with Arsenal FC. Everybody at the club and the fans have always supported me over the years and I have always given my all (and more) on and off the pitch. I am very proud of being part of this fantastic club for the last 8 years. As soon as Mr. Gazidis is back from his 2-week holiday in America further meetings will follow and I will update you if and when there are more developments.

Podolski - Giroud - Walcott

Feasible no?

Oh come on, not a chance. I can't see Giroud scoring 30 goals a season, obviously this is based on a Youtube video but he just doesn't have the touch that Van Persie has. To be fair, not many players do, but he's not even close.

He's absolutely full of shit. You always suspected it but now it's confirmed that he's basically no better than any other of those cunts that manufactured a move away from the club, only he's probably worse because he's said it's not about money when it's absurdly obvious that it's exactly what it's about. He attempted to align himself to the general consensus amongst fans that we aren't going to spend any money so he could get a move to a club that shares his ambitions - oh, and would you look at that, Man City have won something, it's that perfect timing! The only hitch in his plan is that we uncharacteristically bought a couple of really good players that everyone is really happy with, so now his motives are completely transparent and he looks like a total bell end.

I assume he didn't discuss the vulgar matter of what he's getting paid at City then? Probably gone there for less if anything as it's apparently so unimportant. Hope he gets booed until he cries when he comes back, the total cunt.

I was referring more to formation which I assumed you were. Not expecting 30 goals from Giroud in his first season, obviously - but I'd expect more goals from Podolski than we got out of Gervinho which should help (Podolski scored 18 last season). There's every chance RVPs glass ankle will shatter again at the start of next season too, last season was freakish by his standards. Even if he stays fit there's every chance he won't look as good in another team, lots of his goals were simple tap ins - assisted by Walcott and Gervinho, lots of great lobbed through balls from Song etc. He looks little better than average playing for Holland, for instance.

Anyway, starting to sound churlish - good luck to him, shame he's going.

What the fuck does this mean?

Out of my huge respect for Mr. Wenger, the players and the fans I don’t want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward.

I really thought he would stay, not sure why now. I think maybe because after Cesc & that cunt left last year I didn't think we would again sell our main player, captain & main goalscorer..................

Will be gutted if/when he ends up at City.

Why oh why have we waited until he has one season left before we make a move?

Something is seriously wrong behind the scenes. Either AW is incompetent when it comes to negotiating new contracts & getting the deal done when chasing new players (Matta) or he is seriously getting shafted by the board and being hung out to dry when it's not his fault. Maybe we need a David Dein (or actually David Dein) back at the club as Gazides isn't quite doing the job.

Gutted.

Gotta say, I feel like RVP is a bit of a cunt but if he ends up at City he'll join the proper cunt list currently consisting Nasri & Adebayor.

I hope he fucks off to Spain or Italy.

Tried to tell you all months ago that he had no intention of staying. These latest talks have just been to see if he can be persuaded but who in their right mind would sign a new deal when there's a £10m+ signing-on fee to be pocketed?

Yeah, I was, but I mean we just don't have the players to play this formation any more, and swapping Van Persie for Giroud and trying to play the same way, I just can't see it working. We need to play to the strengths of the players we have and without Van Persie, we have very little (proven) strength up front.

I think if we want to carry on playing this way then it's Walcott that we'd want up front, the promise of which would probably be enough to get him signed as well.

Surely there'll be more clubs than just Man City interested? At least get him out of the country.

I think his destination will say a lot about whether or not that statement is bollocks. There's no way he'd join City if he had any respect for the Arsenal fans, so I guess we'll see.

It's becoming very popular to tout 'ambition' as a reason for moving clubs, even if it's just a threat in contract negotiations. I suppose they think it's a good PR move, especially if fans are also unsatisfied with the direction of the club (which a large minority always will be of course). I wish that just once a player would be honest, and actually say they moved for financial reasons. I could sympathise; there's a lot of money in football, so why let someone else have it? It's not like that's any less offensive than saying, as a parting shot, that you're leaving because the club is no longer good enough.

I wasn't that bothered about him going anyway, but if he wants to use cunt tactics to get out ASAP then he can fuck right off. I'd love it if we were rich enough to let him rot in the reserves for a year, but I'm sure we'll get a few quid for him.

We really ought to cover over the "For Sale" text on our captain armband though.

Not an Arsenal fan but sorry to see he's leaving.

No one's ever going to get another season like the one he just had out of him. If we can get anywhere near £20m for him this summer it will be good business.

Oh well, I hope he fucks off ASAP and I couldn't care less where he goes. I hope his form and fitness plummet. Despite the fact that Arsenal FC continues to lurch hilariously and predictably from one disaster to another I do feel sorry for the Club and especially Wenger.

Off you pop Robin, fuck off and don't come back :bye: .
