Yeah but as soon as he leaves the floor, he has no control over his momentum, and he's got a lot of momentum. Yes he wins the ball cleanly, because Sturridge sees him coming and wisely gets out of the way. But if you're going to jump into a tackle then it's a very fine line between getting the ball cleanly, and breaking someone's leg.
