Fair enough. He owns above 29%, which I assume he'll stick on, as wouldn't he have to offer for all the shares if he goes above 30? Regardless, Kroenke isn't going to put any money in to the club when almost a third of it is owned by a guy he is in complete conflict with. In that sense I can't blame him. But clearly us as fans are being taken for a ride by this power struggle going on.

It seems Usmanov is still buying, trying to get above 30%.

Another 17 shares bought today.

I read an interesting fact the other day. Usmanov made more on his stake in Facebook since it was floated than Kroenke is worth in total...

Whilst we were dire gutless etc I'm finding the media reaction odd.

Us losing 4-0 is being treated as a bigger issue than Utd & City failing to get out their groups, which to me is a far bigger crime for clubs of their budget/stature.

It's a bit harder to spin Man Utd and Man City as CLUBS IN CRISIS, though, and they feed off that drama. Plus I get the impression a lot of hacks aren't really Wenger fans so any excuse to stick the knife in.

because he's too smart to say anything directly to the papers to generate stories.

Sounds like the BFG has had surgery so I'd say there's a good chance we won't see him again this season now. Koscielny out for around a week so it'll be Djourou and Vermaelen at Sunderland I guess. Unless he just says fuck it and goes with Djourou and Squillaci/Miquel.

I'd play Squillaci on his own. The only way to make that Milan result look not-so-bad is to lose 9-0 to Sunderland.

Yeah, it's a shame for him. He's improved and a full season under his belt would have been great for next year. Although I do feel that Kos and Vermaelen are possibly first choice. But with Kos injured and Vermaelen looking truly awful in midweek the German is a big miss.

Koscielny and BFG would be first choice atm, IMO. Wenger is probably glad he's been able to play Vermaelen at left-back for so long, otherwise he'd have been benched for a fair few games I reckon.

His focus seems all over the place. The fans had a seemingly inexhaustible supply of patience for him when he was at least trying hard, but he just seems so limp and callow now. He needs to seriously buckle down before the end of the year or he's gone I reckon. Wenger did it last summer with enough people and he doesn't look in any mood to take a different approach now.

I doubt they're lining up like this, but I'd have put Song at centre half, Vermaelen and left back and moved Coquelin into the holding role. That would seem much more balanced to me.

Can''t really argue with that article. I consider myself to be remarkebly patient, but have begun to tire at the lack of consistency that Theo shows. I've always been part of the "see how he does up front" crowd, and still think he should be given the chance, but I do wonder about his ability to position himself in what would be more of a "3D space" than his current position.
