Walcott/Southampton Stuff from Google

I can also use Google, but I am just telling you that when we signed Walcott, as an Arsenal fan, I was quite keen to find out about him so I asked my friends who genuinely watch Southhampton every week. Not read match reports, not watch highlights, not Guardian scout reports - which is the best you could legitimately expect from someone who isn't a Saints fan. I asked them what he was like and they, without exception, said "pacey winger - not ready for the prem".

Wenger didn't "convert" him to a winger.

I know you have this whole "I know every player in every league" thing, and I don't mean to offend you, but what you are saying is not correct no matter what bumpf your searches bring up.

I know you have this whole "I have to take a shot at anyone that disagrees with me" thing, but there's no need to be insulting. I don't profess to know every player in every league, in fact the only league I watch with any regularity now is the Premier League. I don't think I've even managed to watch a single Champions League game this season. Believe it or not, you're not the only person with friends that go to Southampton games. Liverpool were linked heavily with him in the weeks before Arsenal signed him so I had my own reasons for checking him out. I was told that he is a striker that sometimes plays on the wing.

And yeah, I tried to find some stuff to see which of us was correct, everything I found says he was predominantly played as a striker. I've actually found a site that lists the entire team from every game he played in. And in most of them he's up front with one of the players I mentioned (plus Dexter Blackstock) - a crude little and large front-two, basically.

From the horse's mouth: “I'm not a natural winger; I was bought as a striker." - Theo Walcott.

I've recently proved myself incapable of determining player positions so am ill placed to arbitrate between dogsout and carlito. Let me ask this though, does anyone really give a shit? Winger/striker, striker/winger, let's just agree we all miss that effeminate sideburns thing he had going on.

Man... just watching MOTD now - your jockey kit somehow looks even more hideous with the turquoise shorts. Amazing.

I've grown to really love the jockey kit. It doesn't get used enough in the league.

Those shorts and socks though. Fuck me. The players looked they were on the Crystal Maze in the early 90s.

Pure supposition on my part here, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the Arsenal Insider PhotoAbomination is probably pretty close to what will be the real deal. This is purely based on some of the new 2012 Nike designed-kits that are starting to be revealed and that in the past, Nike tend to have a couple of designs that they change the colours for

The two new Brazil kits give an idea of the sleeve design-detail being suggested for ours:

The inside collar colour contrast would also tie in with the dark blue suggestion for ours.

Le sigh, as the kids say.
