Homebrew On Psp 1.5 Firmware

I don't get it :o I've read the explanations here and downloaded the links given earlier. I've read the tutorials but I still can't get it to work.

I've got a 1.5 PSP. I've downloaded and installed Xploit and and the Megadrive emulator. I installed Xploit and now I have 2 folders in my PSP's memory card. I copied and pasted some Megadrive roms from my Xbox onto the MD folder. When I go into the memory card on my PSP it shows the Xploit Firmware 1.5 logo and a file called "corrupt". When I try and run the launcher it doesn't work. I'd really appreciate some help.

Mate, on the front page of psphacker there's a RAR you can download with most of the stuff pre exploited for you. Just copy over the emus you want from that bundle, making sure you have /PSP/GAME/Name_of_app as well as /PSP/GAME/Name_of_app%. You get a corrupted data icon for the second folder in each case (just ignore it). Most of them are pretty sketchy. The only ones that are really approaching solidity are the PC Engine one, and the NES one.

Right, I see what I did wrong now. When I installed the exploit I thought the MD and SNES folders it created was what I needed but it's not. I noticed that the actual ones poster early (By Danger M I think) had more files in them. I copied these over and now everything works :o

I had a quick go at R-Type (Perfect) and Pilotwings (Not so perfect), as well as Sonic and some other MD games. Running it at 333mhz fixes a lot of problems but I'm going to hold off for a while just in case.

Man, this is great. Shove it up your ass Sony you fucks, my 1.5 plays roms :(

After some more experimenting with this the NES emu seems awesome, Megadrive one was awful on the 2 games I tried. Uber slow and it crashed.

The snes emu is amazing with the correct settings. Mario World :( Sensible Soccer was unplayable due to the PSP D-Pad which doesn't let you roll your thumb, it's rubbarsh! Too shallow to the machine aswell. Oh well. No mobile Sensi. Maybe I have small thumbs...

I've found the MD one to be OK as long as you change the clock speed to 333 at the rom select screen (press X I think).

Been struggling with the SNES one a little as it seems there's no general rule for the frameskip/clock speed settings - it's different on every game I've played. Super Punchout and SMW play like a dream, Mario Kart is unplayable (I got round the first corner and Lakitu came and picked me up before transporting me somewhere out of bounds). And unfortunately the mapping of the options screen to the analogue nub means that playing streetfighter is very problematic as my thumb keeps nudging the nub when I do QC motions. Arses.

I'll be playing around with the NES/SMS/PCE ones tonight I think.

Super Punchout and SMW play like a dream

That'll do me! Shame about Mario Kart though

Which Genesis emu is regarded to be the best. I tried both of the ones in that prepacked RAR and thought they were both bad, even at 333Mhz.

PSP Genesis I think, only one with sound. I take it it isn't possible to configure the Analogue Nub for the genesis Emu? I think Sensi just might work a treat on that

What console has a decent version of lemmings?

I think a bit of wee just came out.

Also, I'd like a TV Tuner, if only for Wimbledon fortnight.

Stick a TV card in your PC, then use Windows Media Encoder to encode it. Pick it up on your PSP over wireless. Of course, you can't be more than 50 metres from the base station but hey.

Now what we need is a PSP Media Centre, so we can stream av direct from our PC's hard disk over wireless.

That would be a bit shit though. Who would want to watch a movie, in their own house, on a tiny PSP screen when they will have a PC monitor and a TV nearby?

Only benefit I could see of this would be those extra long toliet breaks!

It would be great for its own sake. And for a crafty one off the wrist. <_<
