James May become a petrol head for the challenge !!

True. I regard James as the sort of car enthusiast you'd expect to meet at an auto jumble rummaging around for an original 1957 MG B wing mirror.. He's totally cool.

Those types of challenge are the best thing on the show. I don't really agree with the Power Lap board though. I don't believe that the MC12 is faster than the Enzo or the Carrera GT.

The MC12 is a stripped out racing enzo, i was surprised it was only marginally quicker. Also the Enzo has beaten the GT in every test so far, its much quicker round a track.

Isn't he actually a bike enthusiast?

something about the ABS/Traction Control being better...

If no-one has mentioned it, can I say that I particularly liked James May's comment about the Honda from the week before last, when wondering about who the car would appeal to; "Those who like hip-hop or those waiting for a hip op.".

I love Top Gear. I wasn't mad keen on the revised format when it changed a few years back, but it has really grown on me now. The combination of presenters works very well, although Hammond could do with standing up to Clarkson a bit more.

More Sabine though!

That reminded me...I thought it was funny when he was saying 'Haha! Yeah! That mean's it is cool!' When the oldies didn't like the Honda. However...surely, for many, the fact that he thinks it's cool is a bit dodgy too?

He must be fairly old...

That new MX5 they had a picture of.. I want one of them.

It's actually a bit dull and a lot like the old one from the front

I wanted the new one to be more modern/angular and exciting. The new one still looks like a bar of soap...

Then again, my previous semi-semi-realistic 'most wanted' was the 350Z cabrio, which JC roundly slagged off in the Sunday Times this week.... even though Autocar love the 350Z in both incarnations.

Doh!

I'd rather have a BMW M3 myself.

Pah! Far to common. I want something rare and unique.

but £21000 more than the TVR, when you could spend that extra sorting out the "niggles" on the tuscan yourself...

I prefered the more classic look of the Wiesmann compared to angry and modern styling of the Tuscan. The Wiesmann in black was sex on wheels.

This is all pointless anyway I'm never gonna be in a situation anytime soon to even afford a car let alone a £60,00 sports car. Just a dream.

EDIT: The Wiesmann GT.

Nah, it would cost a lot more than 21 grand to sort out the Tuscan. After all, their advertising slogan for it is "It is now slightly less likely to kill you than the old model."
