Rowan Morrison
That's a fair BBC report though - they played a prerelease version and note that the focus of the game is on defeating bullies and you can't simply embark on an orgy of violence against everyone (tragically, it seems so). They raise questions about some of the violence and let the creators answer. It seems very reasonable. Hooray!

Stroker Ace
The game's producer did an excellent invterview for the 1Up Yours podcast. Interesting stuff.
Garibaldi
Out in two days ( at least according to VG+ ) and still no reviews? I'm sure it'll be great but this strikes me as a little odd.
Monkeyboy
It comes out 27th October over here. Is that a US release date you're talking about?

Jim Miles
I really want to get a promo copy of this to play. Because it actually looks like it could be really fun. I had the exact idea for this game when I was at primary school, only of course my idea was all pixely with Amiga graphics.

Jim Miles
And about 10 years late.... <cough> Skool Daze<cough> Haha! I just played that on an online emulator to see if it was as I imagined it. The violence was spot on, just punching people and having the teaching tell you off!
Links
8.9 on IGN. Sounds really promising but I'm interested in hearing some first-hand accounts of the game.

Wickedkitten
Oh dear. Now you are going to get the Christians coming out in force to protest over the fact your character can kiss other boys in the game as well.
Nick_L
So has anyone given this a try yet ? its "out there" I think it looks great from the various reviews out there, really looking forward to giving it a try.
Guest alisdair
Wow. Another review: 10.0 from 1up. I'm a bit suspicious of the score, given that the game's had heavy advertising coverage on the site for a week. But still, from the review text it does look like it's definitely worth checking out. I just hope the mini games aren't as shite as they look:
routeburn
A reasonable review on YouTube. Don't care much about the review or the reviewer, but there's a lot of in-game footage.

Vimster
Bully mentioned on Prime Minister's Questions today. The MP made it sound like the end of civilisation, as per any game that sounds slightly suspect. Tony Blair did the old "I haven't seen this game, but..." sort of response. Bleh. And yes, it was referred to as "Bully" which I assume shows the MP was slightly out of touch.

Vorgot
To be honest I had it on the radio in the background, didn't realise it was Keith Vaz. Didn't he spearhead some campaign against Manhunt? He did. When some kid was knifed, he claimed (as did the family) that the murderer trained on Manhunt, and that twisted him. Turned out that the victim was the one who owned the game and it seems the crime was drug related. Another nicely handled piece from the BBC today on Currys and Dixons not stocking this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6063502.stm Nice to see them actually having a relaistic and balanced perspective on this. BTW, having seen the video review on IGN, preorder placed.
Wickedkitten
They are going to be feeling pretty fucking stupid when they actually start the game up and right from the jump your character is being belittled by nearly everyone and sticking up for fat chocolate eating girls whilst getting shoved around. Gabe
Hmm, I guess I'm just not getting it - it doesn't sound particularly interesting at all, and I can imagine a lot of filler. Could be wrong, mind, and I've never enjoyed the GTA series, so not one for me. Wasn't this meant to come out on the Xbox, though? When did it become a PS2 exclusive? Nobody would make themselves look like such a publicity-generating moron for free. Remember that he was involved in some scandal or other and was nearly thrown out of the party, he has made videogames his enemy as part of a moral crusade to make up for his discretions. He is our Jack Thompson.
