Is it only on PS2?

I believe so.

I'd have read more Harry Potter if he'd made girls puke by letting stink bombs off in their lockers, thrown apples at prefects' heads and got repeatedly kicked in the balls.

The Harry Potter side is more to do with it being set in a big mansion-like school where the kids also live, and the music. The game's aural qualities have an especially Potter-esque feel to them, at least the parts that I heard did.

There's one bit of music in the game that sounds like Joy Division, while the detention music (mowing the lawn) sounds very Tubular Bells. It's quite an eclectic score really, but it works pretty well.

No this was in the UK. I'll see if I can dig it up.

EDIT: It was all about 'section 28' which prohibited the promotion of homosexuality in schools. This effectively made it impossible for a teacher to be openly gay (in theory).

He was quite openly gay. We would even sometimes see him in town with his fella.

OMG UK in medieval shocker!

Hey, it's not too bad. At least you don't have a political paedophile party.

And a gay kiss doesn't count as a sexual theme?

Good luck with your one-man campaign to make yourself look an awful cunt, Jack.

How does kissing work in the game? Is there just a 'kiss' command that makes you kiss whoever or whatever is in front of you at the time? It'd be interesting to see how critics would tackle that - maybe a bolt of lightning that strikes you if you try it on anything other than a girl. Or more likely you get Aids, represented by the controls being reversed.

I think we need to see more kissing in games, not less. Imagine how much better Splinter Cell would be if you could hang upside down from a pipe and plant a big kiss on an unsuspecting guard's lips. Mutliplayer would just be kiss chase, basically. Every time you get kissed another lipstick mark gets imprinted on you, making you easier to spot. People will be hiding in cupboards and busting out kissing wildly. Put it into slow motion and then use a control stick for each lip, create your own custom kisses. Get the Live Camera involved - find a fallen teammate and kiss the lens to wake him up.

My stars, the wonderful times we could be having if the agents of darkness weren't obsessed with banning the awful spectre of free kissing.

You've got to 'butter up' whoever you want to 'snog' first. Like give them some flowers or chocolates and be nice then the kiss option may come up.

Completing the Art classes also improves you kissing ability.

Yuo get a health bonus after a kiss, that bonus increases with each Art class you complete.

Hilarity ensues when you butter someone up for a kiss, lay on the flowers and chocs, then just headbutt them instead, run away from the pursuing teachers / prefects and hide in a bin.

Amazing.

Then you can beat them up and get the presents back.

But you can't take back a kiss! See, that's why it should appeal to the likes of Mad Jack. You can beat the person up afterwards, but that kiss still stands as a moment of unerasable passion and love, no matter how much violence you throw at it. Bones mend and bruises heal, bullets work their way to the surface over time, but a kiss is forever. It's surely what the 'X' button is for, I can't believe it's taken me so long to realise that.

More amazing is when your ex spies you laying the tongue on some other broad\bloke. Trent got particularly violent when I decided to switch teams again.

As bad a piece of legislation as Section 28 was, it didn't preclude openly gay teachers, in theory or practice.
