The thought of being stuck in work missing the xbox or nintendo conferences was too much too handle so I've booked the week off.

Anybody else taking holiday to sit infront of a computer to watch webcasts?

Also what have you told your work collegues your taking holiday for ?

Ever considered watching the webcasts at work?

Again - nobody bitched at the people who took the week off for Halo 2, and watching the E3 press conferences is significantly more enjoyable than a good third of that game.

Indeed. Welcome to Hypocritsville, population: too many.

I say good luck to the guy. If he likes the conferences that much, let him watch the conferences.

How many of you are going to take time off work to see the new Star Wars flick, eh? How many of you took a week off to play Halo 2?

Same fucking thing.

Hey, if he wants to spend his time doing that, then good luck to him. I'll be reading what I can of E3 at work and in the evenings, and I'm sure I could find a better use of that time.

Maybe he gets more holidays than I do. I see my annual leave days as precious, and I hate it when they are wasted. A guy at work had to waste one yesterday to wait in all day for some bloke to come and repair his Dyson hoover. Rubbish.

Taking time off to play videogames is at least doing something. This is more like taking a week's holiday to look at low resolution pictures of Caribbean beaches on the internet, or watching a streamed video of someone else playing Halo 2.

I elect the E3 web holidaymakers as our official E3 correspondents. I expect complete show reports, regularly updated. Maybe they can photoshop pictures of themsleves onto photos of the conference floor, pretending they are soaking up the atmosphere and laughing at us poor saps toiling away at work. ;)

I'm definetly doing this.

Seriously though, i'm doing more with my Holiday than just watching E3 webcasts, it's just that I've managed to schedule all that stuff around the E3 week.

I think there's a big difference between taking a couple of days off to PLAY a game but just to watch a conference!?

So long as he's entertained, what's the difference, really?

He could sit and watch the conferences for a few hours or play a game for a few hours - either way he's had fun and has been entertained.

Just because it would entertain YOU doesn't mean you have the right to look down on him. I don't collect fucking stamps, but I'm sure there are many people who consider chasing after certain stamps to be the very height of entertainment. I certainly wouldn't mock them, just because their idea of entertainment is different to mine.

So do shut up.

Come on, admit it, people that collect stamps are fucking losers ;)

why book the week off work when i have the internet at work ? and even if i didn't it's not as if i couldn't wait until i got in from work. are you scared you'll miss something, or not find out about it 2 seconds after the news breaks ?

if a new system was coming out then, possibly, but why take a week off for this?

new Edge is coming out, anyone taking the week off ? :D

I've pretty much gone off revising for my exams (which start on Thurs and I've more next week) because of E3.

Probably a flaw with that plan somewhere.

As for work, I work shit all hours, but I did change tomorrow's. They wanted me to work during Ninty's conference. Fools.
