RE: Oppli bench

The three bays are 44.5cm(17.5inches) wide and 25.5cm(10inches) high, the two shelves can go into either of the three bays at three different positions, one around the centre, one a couple of inches above the centre, one a couple of inches below. Any help?

You're a gent.

Ta very much!

LMAO @ the people who have "dado rails" in their rooms...do you people actually know what year it is?

Yes. It's no longer the 1970s, so we don't feel the need to ruin the illusion of horizontal space that such features provide.

My new humble set-up. It's not the most glam of set-ups for sure but considering the TV, surround sound and HDMI dvd player all cost me a total of less than a grand I'm extremely happy with it. Of course lump in the i-Pod, 360, modded Xbox, DVD recorder and the out of shot PS2 and US NGC and I'm absolutely over the moon!

Since I did some belated spring cleaning this afternoon, I figured I'd take advantage of the fairly respectable state my living room is in and took a series of photos. This one's a little on the dark side due to the lack of natural light that finds its way into this appartment; still, it was the best I could manage without an industrial flash;

Nothing particularly esoteric I'm afraid; that Samsung, the world's most tempramental amp (I'd junk it but it also happens to sound wonderful, like having your ears syringed with warm caramel) and an HTPC I put together a couple of weeks ago from spares. If you look carefully, you'll see a recently neglected modded Xbox and, hiding atop the dvd player is my beloved Neo Geo AES.

It's starting to look awfully cramped beneath the tv, so I'm leaning towards picking up something equivalent to one of those more elegant Ikea units soon. The rest of the apartment isn't quite as sparse as this corner of the living room!

Current setup, had the tv for a few montsh now, love it too bits.

Is that a VieraPlasma jobby? My 37'' arrives on Tuesday ;)

How well does it display an SD picture? I'll be running standard Sky through it for a while, and really hoping it won't look like shit without an upscaler.

Also, nice speakers.

Maybe some paint, a cupboard for your 360 box and cable tidies?

I have a wardrobe to the left of the TV, I just like looking at it because its still very new for me (2 weeks from today), I'll move it into the wardrobe eventually. The cables are a mess, but it doesn't bother me right now, if I were to get 5.1, I'd invest in some, but for the time being, I'll leave it.

It's a good set-up for a 16 year old though, all with my own money, except the stand which I got about a decade back and is in need of an upgrade now that there is other new stuff, it looks out of place.

I've got one. Was there when I moved in in November. I looked at removing it, but its fucking nailed and "no nailz"'d to the wall, so there was no chance of getting it off without having to re screed all the walls, so I left it and painted over it.

Have any of you guys got, or have experience of the Panasonic TX32LXD500?

They have them for £699 in the Panasonic Centre and they seem quite nice?

When I bought my LXD60 I had a good look at the 500 and it is a great TV. If you look at the avforums, a lot of people reckon they are better than the newer 60 (they definitely have a better design). I couldn't see a lot of differences when I compared and went for the 60 because I got a really good deal. £699 for the 500 is a bargain. I am guessing they are reduced as the 600 is coming out soon.

I've got a TX32LX500A, the Aussie version of the TX32LXD500. Until the Bravia range came out, it was the TV getting the best reviews in mags and forum, and I love mine. DVDs and the 360 looks stunning on it. Some GC, PS2 and Xbox games can look a bit rough (probably due to the built in scaler), but most look fantastic.
