Yeah, but at three times the cost you're talking a whole new ball game.

Plus, I'm a bit cynical when it comes to these 1080P native sets. Anything that outputs natively at 720P - such as the 360 - is going to require some major upscaling. I've tested out the 360 on my Dell 2405FPW (native res of 1920x1200, aka 1200p, but keeping the aspect ratio to allow it to upscale to 1080P, as it's a 16:10 display) and due to upscaling a lot of the sharpness is lost.

I'm sure the scalers in these new sets are excellent, but think of how a 480P image (like one from the Xbox/GC and some PS2 games) looks on a current HD-ready TV. Hardly as sharp as the new 360 stuff running damn near natively. Scaling 720P up to 1080P will have a similar effect, though perhaps not as blatant.

When BlueRay and HD-DVDs running at 1080P hit the market it'll become a different matter. But for gaming right now - and possibly in the future, due to the PS3 output looking like it *may* mainly be 720P-centric - a ~720P screen is more ideal.

?

Well not sure if you are being serious, but she doesnt make me, I just prefer having a room that I can go to so I am not hogging the TV when I want to play.

I prefer having space that the girlfriend and I can share, and do our own things in, together. Oh well, horses for courses and all that!

Well unfortunately watching TV and playing x box at the same time dont really mix. As she is only a few yards away in the other room when I go to play I find we cope just fine with the enforced absence.

And she ain't kicked you out?

Im still being nice. Im hoping she becomes too emotionally attached by the time I show my true colours :)

Sorry, only just spotted this question.

Well, I went to get this one from Ikea, which is the one everyone in the universe owns:

Can someone who's got one of those do me a favour and measure the width & height of the shelves please?

I've run out of space in my cabinet, and need to get a new one.

TIA!

RE: Oppli bench

The three bays are 44.5cm(17.5inches) wide and 25.5cm(10inches) high, the two shelves can go into either of the three bays at three different positions, one around the centre, one a couple of inches above the centre, one a couple of inches below. Any help?
