So just got one of those CRT HD sets and this is how everything is now set up. Gotta get some of those twin phono-S-Video leads to wire the PS2 in via component and gonna change the speakers tomorrow for better ones.

Black Gamecube to the left of me,

Purple to the right,

on the stand in the middle is the view....

I'd say so. HD is lovely on it. Shame my camera can't really do it justice.

Oh, and the black GC is a PAL one, the purple one, my original, still going strong JAP/US import, bought just after the US release.

Lol I got a Purple Jap/US GC at US launch from NCSX and it's still going strong too. And I have a Black Pal GC.

Played on me GC alot more than the PS2 and I have been through 4 ps2s now!!!

Now I do all my furniture on the cheap, so that I can spend the rest of my hard earned money on the games to put into the systems I have. So please excuse the shoddiness of this all.

This is my main console stack, with crappy 21" TV to the side. Yes, that is a VCR stuck on it's side which has worked surprisingly well for about 8 years in that position. It's not only consoles that can go vertical. All these consoles are connected via switchbox to the projector and the surround sound amp under the TV

es.jpg

Now behind that is my 360 connected to the Projector I have. This I don't have a picture of right now. It's a bit out of place where it is, but easier than having all 5 of the composite connections going all the way from the above picture. Anyway, this projects onto a home made screen that I created out of an old sheet, two plumbing pipes, 2 bits of off cut wood, two hooks and 8 self adhesive sticky pads to keep it attached to the ceiling.

akodvd.jpg

I found that trying to take a photo of the screen with the flash makes the whole damn thing go white and you cant see the image. Turn off the flash and anything on the screen that is moving is blurred. So you've got a still image of the DVD version of the best anime ever.

What is it with me and doing hack jobs on the cheap that are actually quite effective?

I don't suppose there's a region 2 release of it, is there?

EDIT:

Play have 6 episodes

And those are the only episodes that were ever made. I wouldn't even really call them episodes as this was made back in the mid 80's where you could only really get feature length OVA's.

A fantastic anime that takes the piss out of itself and other anime, specially mecha.

I still have it on VHS bought when it first came out in the UK many moons ago. Hard to believe its been so long really - I still remember watching AKIRA, Venus Wars, A-Ko for the first time.. Ahhh good days ;)

Don't you find all the crap surrounding the screen rather off-putting?

C'mon, South Park ceased being funny after season 3...

Yes, yes it does. It also reminds me that I want to get a projector. Is that some sort of sheep/lamb ornament/furniture in the corner? That makes it far less depressing. I like it.

Yes it is. It's a Shaun the sheep footstool.

It would look surprisingly less depressing if the landlord would actually let me decorate in there.

until that time, I have to deal with what I have got.

Does this image make it seem any better?

Everytime I look at your pics, I can hear John Peel doing a voice over for Life of Grime, saying "And today the team have to clear up the house of an 85 year old, whos body lay undiscovered for 14 months..."

I also blame my landlord for that as he still has not moved his stuff since he moved out 2 years ago, despite continued nagging. Whats worse if my matres fiance is coming over to live with us in approx.... 3 days which is going to make the situation about 100x worse.

Maybe i'll get her to do some painting while she is here...

Used the bank holiday weekend to give my setup an overhaul.

Customised a tv cabinet to fit my space better (removed side shelving to make rectangular stand and stuff). Got some nice game/dvd holding stands and spend a day (!) completely rewiring all my cabling to the point of insane neatness. Poor phone photo quality but the its looking rather nice.

And (jeebus!) iv removed my home made tv stand replacing it with a real one. Hurrah :(
