UNCONFIRMED: Rising Star Games announced they will be bringing the Taito classic title Rainbow Islands Revolution to Nintendo DS in Europe, besides the already announced titles Space Invaders Revolution and Bubble Bobble Revolution.

Drawing rainbows with the stylus perhaps? Ooh yeah!

What are you talking about df0notfound? The music is excellent  B)

I think there may be some licensing issues with the music

I agree about the graphics though - hope they don't overegg them

Nooo its awful but thats why I love it, just going on and on and on then one of those cunting vampires kills you. Its genius it teases you so much.

And Amiga is the only way to play it really (unless you have the real thing) not some stinking mame cabinet.

I would love it if they could manage to have rainbow islands, parastol stars, bubble bobble, New Zealand Story and Rodlamd on one cart for Nintendo DS. With this, Mario 64 DS and Advance Wars DS I would buy one.

.::: The more games are announced for the DS the more games you add to your list to be released 'before you get a DS'. Really, buy one already. :)

Hope they have an option to turn the annoying music on :) didn't it get left out of the psx version? Also there better be a version with the original sprites.

I was gutted how the Rainbow Island and Bubble Bobble music on the PSX version was inferior to the C64 music!

You have to wonder...

*gurgle* I love Rainbow Island so sign me up for this! Although I preferred the PS1 sprites to the originals, thought they looked really nice. I agree that we need the old music back, though. If someone did make a triple pack of Bubble Bobble/Rainbow Islands/Parasol Stars I think I might just burst.

I got both the Amiga version as the MAME ROM running in a cabinet, and the latter is better. It really is. No, really. Although the Amiga edition was a mighty fine conversion for sure, I give you that.

The reason the music changed in later versions, was because of copyright (it sounded to much like "somewhere over the rainbow").

Rainbow Islands Rev sounds good, but I have to ask what can they do differemt for Bubble Bobble? Its already pretty much perfection on the GBA "Bubble bobble old and new".

New zealand story would be nice.

Drawing Rainbows with the Stylus sounds fun, but it's not going to be Rainbow Islands if they do that, really. As an added mode it'd be fine, but I say don't fuck with the existing control scheme. That's how hearts are broken, that is.

Yeah, but I for one dont want to just play the SAME game AGAIN. Some funky new controls would do me just nicely, thanks :(
