Doctor Who: Bad Wolf

Recommended Posts

Any ideas what this is about?

Is Eccleston's Doctor a fake?  Someone else in disguise?  "What big ears you've got"

If his one series tenure was planned all along then this could well be the case.

I've no idea what his motives would be though - he seems to be doing good stuff.

I dont think they could realistically bring it back like they have and not make Eccleston the real Doctor. Not matter how amazing a twist it could be.

If the Doctor is the Bad Wolf, it could be due to his nature and the fact Death and destruction follow him every where therefore he becomes seen by other races and cultures as the big bad wolf.

One thing about Sat's episode. No actual Bad wolf reference in the episode. But check out Whoisdoctorwho.co.uk and there's a mention on there.

I swear though that Mickeys T-shirt had a wolf's face on it. During the scenes in his flat with Jackie.

Unless you include the kid cleaning the graffiti off. Even though you don't see the words .. ok, that's weak :P

The interesting thing is it's people who don't know who he is who say it - the servant girl read it in his mind, the graffiti kid - where the hell did he get it?

What does Bad Wolf mean though? In the story, it's the little pigs, not Red Riding Hood, so I don't think it's alluding to someone in disguise (if that's what you meant John). The other thing is you never see the Doctor react to those words as such, so maybe he's got no idea what they mean either.

I'm gonna have to find the damn episodes now to watch again :P I didn't notice any Bad Wolf reference.

Maybe there wasn't one in last Saturdays cos it was a two-parter and (I assume) there was one in the first half of it.

From a post on slashdot.

Episode 1 (hearsay) - The Nestine Conciousness mouths the words "bad wolf" when speaking with the Doctor.

Episode 2 - The Moxx of Balhoon mentions a "Big bad wolf scenario" to the Face of Boe.

Episode 3 - Quinneth mentions the "Big bad wolf" and pulls away from Rose, terrified.

Episode 4 - "Bad Wolf" spray painted on the TARDIS.

Episode 5 - Indirect reference. Who Is Doctor Who? [whoisdoctorwho.co.uk], the tie-in website, mentions "big bad wolf" when referencing the closing minutes of the episode.

And does anyone think Rose's dead dad will factor?

I thought he might be a fake as well. The fact that the new Doctor is going to be another of Russell T Davies' actors made me suspicious.I am tending towards the idea that they knew that Eccleston would only be doing one season and will have a great ending to this season and paving the way for the new one.

The idea that the Doctor is a fake or the regeneration process went wrong would fit with the Bad Wolf hints.Although it could be (Doctor) Who's afraid of the big bad wolf and someone like the Master could be trailing him.

All in all though it has me intrigued.

Looking forward to the Dalek episode on Saturday.Last night teaser when the Dalek was slowly revealed was superb!

He knows too much about, er, everything to be a fake, I reckon. And that tree-being scanned him too, although I don't recall any direct reference to him being a time lord from her..... :P

I reckon it's probably tied into the Master/new Daleks?

edit: Regarding Mickey; the Doctor keeps calling him Rickey (I think...), maybe related in some way? I think the Doctor knows something more about him than he lets on or Mickey is aware of. Teh host body!

Yeah, the Dr was very insistant that he was called Ricky at one point - more more insistant that would be needed for it to be just a throwaway "the Dr is all muddled" gag.

In my edition of Grimms Fairy Tales, the wolf is only referred to as "wolf" in the Red Riding Hood story. No mention of the word "bad".

Yes, she called him Time Lord.

I don't reckon we know enough to know for sure yet. There's bound to be someone new introduced to clear it all up.

The variety of references are just so obscure though ... doesn't seem to be any kind of pattern to it at all.
