Shadow Of The Colossus - hugely over-rated but wonderfully atmospheric and visually stunning.

Katamari Damarcy - Trying to complete the original before starting on the sequel.

Counterstrike Source - back to this after a brief flirtation with CoD and F.E.A.R.'s multiplayer, both of which left me very cold.

Quake 4 Multiplayer - The Daddy to CS:S's Mummy.

Having completed Far Cry Instincts and decided The Warriors wasn't for me I am now working my way through Half Life 2 and loving every minute of it. On the DS I have been playing Tony Hawks and Phoenix Wright. I am travelling a fair amount this week so I am hoping I can finish PW before Mario Kart arrives later in the week.

Completed Shadow of the Colossus this weekend which was fab and am now about 4 hours into Half Life 2 which is also fab.

Also playing Pro 5 and Zoo Keeper in short burst, actually got a new high score on Zoo Keeper time attack of 4.2 million

Deus Ex: Invisible War - Got this for £4 (Four pound!) in gamestation second hand.

Havn't played it much yet but its a nice slow paced rpg/shooter which I'm sure will open up soon into brilliance (The first was incredible).

.

It doesn't IMO. They somehow managed to make it worse than the original. The removal of skills was bad idea IMO and as a result it becomes much more of an FPS than the first game. The levels are smaller as well. It's still an OK game but not a patch on the original IMO

Trauma Center (Stuck on chapter two on the multiple anuirisms)

It's a right arse innit? I reckon the only way to do it after they pop up is to do the healing touch thingy although I've never had the option to...Aside from that not sure how you're sposed to do it, even with dosing them up to bugrery...

The last few days have seen me enjoying

Xmen Legends 2 - good and a major improvement on the first game

Half Life 2 - fantastic if patchy and a contender for game of the year. Better than RE4

GTA LCS - the other contender for GOTY. More fun than SA IMHO.

True Crime LA - trying to get this finished before I try NY

Mario Kart DS is with me at all times now.

(my flatmate and I just had a mini competition... he's getting better and actually beat me a couple of times)

I even managed to have a game with someone in the MTR whilst going to work.... kicked her 14year old ass

I'm resisting the temptation to buy Ouedan but I think I'll cave in before the week is through.

I've also been playing Soul Calibur 3 on my PS2, as enjoyable as ever although it's not getting much of a look in due to MKDS.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. I remember trying the first GBA game ages ago and not getting on too well with it but this is brilliant. It's like an Advance Wars RPG with an epic storyline (reminiscent of Berserk Manga/Anime in some ways).

That and daily bites of Nintendogs, Yoshi's Touch & Go and AW:DS. With Ouendan and Band Bros. in the post, I've bought more games for the DS than I have for any other console over the past year; and I've enjoyed all but one of them (Lost in Blue).

  • 2 weeks later...

.::: Call of Duty 2 (X360) - Veteran has amde this my favourite shooter yet.

Mario Kart DS (NDS) - Well who hasn't slotted it into his DS?

Spyro Shadow Legacy (NDS) - Gave up on it after the glitching, the just plain wrong (Dutch) translation, and the utterly filthey graphics engine. Don't expect a nice review-score.

I'm also doing Paper Mario 2. It's one of those games that I'm not rushing, despite having had it for nearly a year, I'm only on Chapter 3 and 9 hours in. Wonderful game, very high quality and very funny.

Other than that:

- Mario Kart DS and Ouendan on the DS (put Castlevania on hold to stop me flying through it)

- Fire Emblem and Baten Kaitos on the Cube

- Civilization IV on PC

- Shadow of the Colossus on PS2

Perfect Dark Zero

Loving this. Nice graphics, fun gameplay, great co-op mode and lots of ace sniping opportunies. Not too fussed on the online deathmatch modes, but then I've always been wank at online console FPSs.

Project Gotham Racing 3

I was initially underwhelmed, but I've really got into it tonight (had a couple of online races with Syntax and Soong) and I'm loving it. The 'buying cars' mechanic has clicked, and some of the later courses (Tokyo in particular) are incredible.

Kameo: Elements of Power

It's a shame not a lot of people are giving this one a chance just because it's developed by Rare, as everything they've made since Banjo Tooie has been shit :o It's full and colourful and is a nice, relaxing distraction from the 'serious' launch games.

Call of Duty 2

Not played this much, it seems like a pretty standard PC port. looks miles better than COD2 looks on my PC though.

Soon I'll be playing Animal Crossing: Wild World, and hopefully Mario & Luigi 2.

I'm also doing Paper Mario 2. It's one of those games that I'm not rushing, despite having had it for nearly a year, I'm only on Chapter 3 and 9 hours in. Wonderful game, very high quality and very funny.

Yeah, it's the best. I'm going to go back to it soon to finish the 9th Chapter (at last!). Then I'm going to start over and play through it again ;)

Killer 7

Finished it now, my brain is melting just trying to understand it all, but the climax was an exhilarating mindfuck.

Metal Slug 1 & 2

My favourite games on the PSP. :o MS2 is just so addictive, I played until level 6(?) where it all gets a bit crazy all the helicopters and grenades and bullets coming from all directions, I just can't handle it when it gets like that. Animation is still my fave 2D animation ever, it's so full of funny little randomn animations.
