What Are You Playing?

I picked this up for £15 in HMV last week, put in about 4 hours so far and have just done the dragons castle. All good so far.

Other than that Meteos, Burnout 4 and Gradius 5 have also been vying for my attention.

It gets better, the first level is the weakest I thought.

Just had a few more thoroughly enjoyable hours on Killer 7 while the fiancée's out with the girls. I'm yet again astounded that a game with such a (seemingly) narrow appeal even got the green light, never mind released in high street stores.

The shooting parts are fun, although sometimes the collision detection feels a little off, mainly when you're trying to hit the sweet spot of a Smile that's crawling towards you. Doesn't ruin the game though.

The puzzles are simple enough to be an enjoyable distraction without halting the flow of the game, which is nice.

The boss at the end of level three took a while to figure out, just a case of swatting away all the flying brains and observing the finer details of the two characters. Nicely done, I thought.

I love the script too, especially the serial killer woman's emoticons (which I've just discovered get replaced with trad smiley icons if used here - doh).

Anyway, just got to the Cloudman level, and I'm too tired to continue with it, mainly cos there are smiles coming from all directions in an open area, and it's hard to tell where they're coming from.

The visual style continues to greatly impress too.

This is just about the only game I can think of playing following completing Resident Evil 4, as any 'conventional' game simply wouldn't measure up. Killer 7 is providing the perfect left-field dessert to The Greatest Game I've Ever Played.

Re-entering GTA: San An, and finding it truelly wonderful. I've spent about 15 hours taking over all the territories- the whole gang-warfare aspect really puts you in touch with your little corner of Los Santos, and it's getting to me as much as Liberty City's first districts ever did. My long-passed adventures in crime with Sweet and the gang are more legend than anything, so I'm hanging up my gang colours for a stint of going straight as a trucker out in the sticks. Blew all my cash on property, too, which wasn't wise.

I'll maybe off to San Fierro for some street-racing after that.

Finished MP2:Echoes, so now I'm FREE!!

Well, I also had Chibirobo to play, but I couldn't get on with it due to the lack of English and I accidently deleted my save file. So that's getting sold.

Next up is Katamari Damacy, which is on its way to me now. In the meantime, I'm getting in some more quality Burnout 3 time on Xbox... just to fill the gap.

And remembering exactly why I hate bosses - someone should ban them - they're so very artificial - more of a memory test that anything else.

That's part of what I like about them. Well, good ones, anyway. Most 3D ones these days are cack.

I like bosses that require, you know, actual physical skill to beat. :)

As for what I'm playing at the moment, I'm going through Bangaioh again and trying to up my score on Psyvariar II.

Cant think of a single game in histoy that had a boss that needed actual physical skill to beat. Did DDR have bosses?

Actually, there is Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
