Finished DMC4 last night.

Heh. I finished DMC that night too. I don't know if I have the heart to do it all over again, even if it is only about 10 hours long.

I should probably start COD4 but I've found myself insanely distracted by Hexic. It's an addiction.

I'm into the home stretch on Land of Lore. By golly it's combat-heavy... the kind where your guys take two hits and die, you have to keep running out to whack something a couple of times, get some spells off, then run back to safety to heal. This is never helped by the fact that I always neglect to experiment with spellcasting, and usually struggle against a particular enemy type until I find it's weak to something.

I'm having an absolute blast with it, though I'm keen to get it finished so I can move onto my next game. My new regime of playing only one 'big' game until it's done seems to be paying off, as I've hammered LoL to the exclusion of pretty much everything else bar a few sessions on arcadey stuff.

I picked up Civ 3 for the PC yesterday on the cheap and already kind of regretting it. I turned it on at about 9pm last night to check it out and turned off finally at 4.30am, after an ill-fated attack on the Greeks. Tried to have a quick go this afternoon before heading out and played for another 3 hours.

Ruinous. I'm not sure if I dare turn it on again.

Also rented out Bully on the 360. I was enjoying it until it crashed for no obvious reason losing a hour worth of play. Lazy port too, horrendous loading times.

Kingdom Hearts (PS2). 20 hours in now. I have the PAL version, wish it had a better frame rate and proper widescreen but have got use to that now. I don't tend to like RPGs that much, but do like this one.

Mario Kart Wii. Lovely stuff. I actually like the Wii Wheel a fair bit. Feel like a kid again. ^_^

Professor Layton (DS) - hmmm, better get back to this at some point.

After not playing any games since mid feb, I've now gone "casual" and I'm currently limiting myself to one platform (well, platform family once my pal 60gb arrives) - Ps3. I've played more then enough 360 games and playing more platforms means more games to try and play Concentrating on ps3 for the moment means I can catch up on the stuff I've missed due to juggling so many games at once.

Uncharted - I'm on the start of chapter 4 after buying this on ebay last week. It's great, but I'll probably take my time with it

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue- Bought cheap from my cousin who couldn't get into it. I'm not rushing this either

Unreal Tournament - Again cheap on ebay, playing through campaign. A few missions here and there, easy going

Once my pal 60gb unit arrives I'll play through Metal Gear Solid and finish my MGS2 save (a replay I started last year that I put on hold after clearing the tanker)

I finally got 1000 points out of EDF 2017 so I'm back to GTAIII which I hope to complete before GTAIV. Currently having problems taking out nine coffee stalls across all three islands. Stupid stalls.

Congrats on the EDF 1K  going for that myself at the moment but have a long way to go.

Ikaruga has properly clicked with me, now I understand the chaining system and suddenly it has turned from amusing curio to white knuckled, dreaming about it fever material. Still don't see how a human can get past level 4 without 7 credits but I'm sure that will come in time.

Knocking about with Professor Layton on the DS and Minna No Golf 2 on the PSP, both brilliant. CoD4 too obviously.

I just started up Tactics Ogre on the PS1 last night. Don't see it get many mentions round here when the subject of SRPGs come up. Not sure if I'm going to have the time to play through it properly, but what do people think - is it worth persisting with?

Also doing a couple more stars on SMG every day. I absolutely love it.

Oh and still playing Animal Crossing: Wild World. After about 4 months it has become a bit of drudge tbh. I can't decide if I still enjoy it or if I just keep playing out of some bizarre sense of duty.

Not long finished MGS2, which is still pretty good. It's a flawed slice of genius- for all Kojima attempts to meld the issues of player-character identity into the story and game proper, the thuddingly clunky, overly complex storyline that the meta-story is built on drags it down. The level design, too, is a bit lacking- the Shell leaves little room for hiding out in some areas, with a few definate dead-ends where if you're seen, it's an unavoidable case of Game Over. Great set-pieces though and I look forward to MGS4 tying up the loose ends.

On May 1st I'll start MGS3, my last Metal Gear A Month before MGS4's release.

I only finished this the other day and it had some decent gameplay concepts, but it was ultimately a very poorly executed experience. Kojima's holier-than-thou message was targeted to insult the gamer and watch him/her passively accept the criticism in the end game, as though that were a sort of cleverness. Ignore the proselytization and simply PLAY the game, and you still get insulted: terrible boss encounters, short levels, and endless codec/cutscene sequences beyond your control were part and parcel of the little affront. In the end, though, Hideo wasn't being clever: he was just trolling.

(MGS3 also has vastly superior gameplay and more of it, to boot.)

It didn't click with me at all. :)

I have revisited Panzer Dragoon Orta through the joys of backwards compatibility.

Proper

I thought that Orta was broken on the 360? If it works, then I'll have to dig that out. I seem to recall not getting beyond the second level though...

In the meantime I'm playing Condemned 2. Now that I'm used to the fighting I'm getting more into it, but damn is that first level a piece of shit. I've not had a chance to play it online because no one else seems to be around. I created a thread in the Online forum, but no one replied. :(

Been having a Gamecube revival at my house, Dirt To Daytona (which still looks really good and plays even better, such a great underated game) and Batallion Wars which is enjoyable.

Also i've been Playing Zelda LttP on the GBA because i've never actually finished it, but fuck me is it hard, i'm glad they don't make games that tough anymore.

Games I am currently playing just now are Lost Odyssey, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, PES2008 and Dark Sector. Got Lost Odyssey on release but kind of slacked off it a bit with only levelling up here and there and not very far into disc 4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare I was just playing online - hadn't touched single player but I was looking at some of the Achievements and I noticed that most came from playing the game through Veteran mode so I just jump right to that. Currently I am near the end in the war room. Dark Sector I only bought last week and with my main focus is on Lost Odyssey and Call of Duty 4, I haven't played much of it and so far I'm only on Chapter 4. PES2008 is when I just get a bit bored and kind of want to lay back or play with my brother.

I'm shit at chains. In level 1, I can get one long chain up to that bit with the large black and large white ships with smaller turrets on each, that roatate round the edge of the screen... then it all goes to shit. I can get a B+...
