Doctor Who

Do you think we've got another situation similar to what we thought was a continuity error with the doctors jacket with this new coat he's wearing - he never had it before and now suddenly he's got it most of the time. Is this a Doctor froma different time, or a different doctor all together?

I think someone earlier suggested this - we don't know how long the Doctor was traveling between AGMGTW and LKH before he went back to Amy.

The new coat comes and goes though - and surely Amy/Rory would notice if the Doctor switches.

IIRC:

LKH - Long Coat

NT - Jacket

TGWW - Long Coat (but only in shirt for most of scenes in TARDIS)

TGC - Jacket

Next two - Long Coat based on promos.

Nothing's been mentioned about his changing jacket in the show has it?

Well I really liked that, as usual the Doctor interacting with babies is just entertaining to watch and now we're all ready to see how things fall apart next week. Anyone else get the feeling this might not all wrap up neatly next week but give us a lead in to the next series?

Stormageddon just made me laugh everytime he said it. Thought smith was fantastic in tonights episode.

No because we have a Christmas episode coming.

Pure speculation about the finale deriving from the iconography of the final scene of this week's:

Interesting iconography in the final scene. The space-suit almost seemed to be evoking a wedding dress, with the colour and the ceremonial way it was brought into the room, with River being forced in. Plus the Silence standing behind her in suits, like ushers. Along with the title of the final episode, perhaps all this suggests that what we thought was a death, was actually a wedding?

And then, in Episode One, we saw the Doctor open the spacesuit helmet, see who was inside, and say 'of course'. This is like pulling off the bridal, erm, veil. And perhaps he says 'of course' not in recognition of who he sees beneath the veil/helmet, but because of a question mouthed at him by the person he sees. Like 'will you marry me?' or something.

Which defeats the Silence's plans and so means they themselves fall!

Some funny bits like Stormageddon but jokes like that work better in small doses. A whole episode of that wackiness just became tedious, especially with things like Craig's cringeworthy talk to the lingerie shopper. Slightly too much of Steven Moffat's Gay AgendaTM, too - if you're going to include a joke about a case of "oh, we're not a couple" mistaken identity, it had better be a good one!

All that was disappointing, as I enjoyed The Lodger. :(

There were some good scenes though, like the Doctor spotting Amy and Rory, and his talk to the baby after turning the nightlight into a planetarium. I also liked the seamless first teleportation, and the line about the difficulty of booking a glazier on a Sunday.

Well my theory above isn't all right, the scene in The Impossible Astronaut wasn't quite how I remembered!

Yeah, it's River that says 'Of course'. The Doctor says 'It's okay, I know it's you.'

Also - I think we have to assume now that between AGMGTW and LKH, the Doctor was travelling for a long time. Since he got his Stetson (which is cool) and his blue envelopes at the end of this episode.
