The only saving grace with this was that we didn't have to watch Barrowman snogging some random gay yet again.

Has there actually been a gay guy in it yet? From the ones I can remember RTD seems to have a massive hard-on for bisexual men.

No they were all as gay as the hills, apart from the nice Italian lad who ended up dead in bed with his daughter .. possible grand daughter... standing over him.

Bonus +1 for "Mantle With Aplomb".

That was probably my favourite Smith story yet. I thought the script was one of the funniest so far and the make-up on Walliams and the Minotaur was remarkably good too. The barbershop bit was shot very well with the reflections and distorted views through water. Plus, having The Doctor's theme kick in half way through too.

On Torchwood, I did enjoy Danes pledging to be Pedobear in Hell.

Edit: I did giggle at The Doctor's room number too.

Curse of fenric anyone. And a nimon mention. Good solid episode. Think it's the first episode for me since 2005 that felt like classic who. And I spotted a copy of Look-in in the barbers. Which instantly made me realise there was a strong sapphire and steel vibe in there.

Let's be honest if James Corden got killed as often as Rory does/did that would be an additional bonus to the show. Also you could not watch the final five minutes and imagine he stayed dead each time

TBH she didn't do anything for me as a character - well, the character did but the actress less so and I could see her going down the annoying Martha route very quickly.

For some reason I liked the police woman at the beginning of the ep and hoped she'd pop up later. Was sad she didn't make it back in at all.

Well that was very good. The second half of season 6 have all been aces IMO (although in very different ways)

Unexpected as well. Love the direction/production. That hotel, although brightly lit, was incredibly creepy - but I couldn't work out why.

The Doctor shattering Amy's faith was a bit brutal.

Both Rita and Lucy (cop at the start) were very good. Time-whiney save them and make them companions?

Nice that someone remembered Melody/River as well for this episode. Still wish we'd seen a little more in the last few episodes about the Williams wanting to find their daughter (or suffering from losing her).

Was Rory's past tense significant? It was a bit of a throw away, but then seemed to scream out "this is important"!

I normally love the music in Who, and never find it intrusive, but when the Minotaur was dying it was REALLY distracting.

RE the clown: I'm pretty sure they said the fears remained in the hotel even after the person was killed so it was probably just an old, redundant, fear.

Well we could hear the cloister bell, so I'd imagine the Doctor's fear is being without his TARDIS. Without it, he's just a madman.
