Torchwood:MD. A complete excerise in tedium then. The last episode actually has some nice moments (but then I'm a sucker for inncidental music), but really just rounds off a completely and utterly awful series

So the answer to the Miracle is...it just happened?

The Fams only needed the 1 vial of blood, but it needs all of Jack/Rex's blood to fix?

No one thinks to shoot Gwen? That would stop Jack.

Danes' last speech is about how he's going to follow all the "bad little girls" in killed to hell...and then "chase them" again? What the hell was the point of this character other than a pathetic attempt to be edgy?

Esther dies. Not for any real reason to do with her character, but as plot device for another character. (Woman in a Fridge anyone? Or memories of Ianto?) And then no one really cares at her funeral (seriously they all couldn't give a toss, look at them singing!)

The CIA rivals CTU for idiocy. Speaking of why to Charlotte think her best plan, when surrounded by agents with guns, was to turn and shoot one person miles away and then stand and watch him die? (Other than Rex needed to die somehow for the "moment")

I stand by my earlier claim that Rex is a "writer fav". Now he's just a special as Jack! (Even though Jack himself said there was nothing special about his blood earlier).

So the "rush" to make Ash was just...what? Corporate greed? Same with the stockpiled drugs? Glad we didn't spend WEEKS pretending it was an important plot point then

So they know DaddyCooper will die when they fix the mircale (which is their goal for the entire thing!) so why make such a big deal of "saving" him the last few weeks?

The worst thing? Even the bullshit they came up with makes no sense. Jack dies. He resurects and heals. They've hammered home the Jesus analogy enough. He doesn't just "live on" unable to die when hurt. The Blessing didn't turn anyone into anything like Jack!

I'd go on and on about what was wrong with this show, but then I'd be putting more thought in than the writers. It just utterly fails on every level. They seem to have no idea why people loved CoE, they don't even know why people kinda liked bits of S1 and S2 of Torchwood.

I just don't understand how anyone was happy to put their name to this project. (Although the lady playing Jilly gets the line of the series with her summary of Torchwood's plan)

I just want to point out that the reason they were trying to save Daddy Cooper for the last few weeks was that they didn't want him to be burnt to ash whilst still alive. They had no problem with him dying properly, but I can see why they were trying to save him from incineration whilst still alive.

Also, and it's rare I say this for UK TV, but I really liked the production design on it as well.

Yeah, it was minimalistic but very effective.

It reminded me of Portal as well, particularly the contrast between the white-walled rooms and the grimy underbelly.

I also loved the robots, and the pretty seamless mix of CGI and physical costumes.

Excellent episode. The ending dragged on a bit (forced sentimentality went on too long), but the rest was superb.

I think "The Girl that Waited" would've worked a little better without the OTT score and slow-mo in the dramatic bits. It felt like it was a very deliberately underplayed episode - set designs and all - and trying to put it into drama-land had the opposite effect. Interesting idea, though. Rare to see them do a just an "A" story with no subplot to cut away to.

Just watched the newest Dr Who ep. Not sure whether I was just emotional, but I thought it was incredible. Loved some of the lines, especially the one about updating twitter

It also helped that old Karen Gillan is pretty milfy.

Made the mistake of watching Torchwood. It's like, no matter how bad it gets and I start thinking it really can't get any worse it somehow does, and then some. Ed Wood, Uwe Boll, they ain't got shit on Rusty. And don't get me started on 'The Blessing', holy moley.

We need a new pic, the old SOMETHING HUGELY RETARDED one just doesn't do him justice any more.

I like the fact that at the end they make some stupid allusion that this huge world changing event is just a tiny first step in something much much bigger. Which they no doubt haven't thought of yet just they like the idea so they'll have to spin some even worse and more ridiculous pile of shit out to follow up with.

I'm guessing they think Barrowman might leave at some point hence the crap with Rex, so they can draw this out more.

I had to turn away for about five minutes during the 'showdown' sequence in the last Torchwood episode. Did The Blessing actually get explained in any form? I would watch the missing few minutes on iPlayer, but I really don't want to have to sit through that again just to scratch my curiosity.

The families had a single vial of Jack's blood. They somehow figured out that using a bit of it at the same time at both ends would cause the miracle (Do we have a smiley for being a derp?). Then for some reason we find out that Jack and Rex doing the same thing would drain their blood completely.

I don't think we could possibly have a derp smiley big enough to handle the amount of shit this garbage of a TV show has expected us to swallow. How did we get from the fantastic Children of Earth to this?

So Torchwood and Doctor Who obviously exist in the same universe, yes? Ok, and the blessing goes all the way through the centre of the Earth. The same centre of the earth where all the Rachni (those spidery things) children were laying dormant and which were drowned by the 10th Doctor. So how does that work then?

Ah thanks, but I saw that nonsense. What I was wondering was did the actual existence of the giant arse crack get explained? I mean, was it always just 'kinda there', some big thing running right through the Earth or was it some alien thing that landed? I mean, there was a giant friggin' arse crack running through the Earth. tell me they had something half-way decent to explain that away!

Nobody knew. Jack said it might have always been there.

Or something to do with malfunctioning Silurian hibernation technology, bafflingly.

That entire sentence from Jack was RTD physically masturbating from the script directly into your face by the medium of TV. Let's never speak of it again.

Well in some interview or another he said he's got one more Gwen story to do... He 'hopes' he'll be able to do it.

AND ALL OF YOU WHO WATCHED AND MOANED HAVE MADE THIS POSSIBLE.

Me I watched the first ep and thought the rest would be bad for my heart rate. Did I miss much ;)
