Doctor Who

I liked it. In RTD-era Who I feel it would have been obvious from the start that there couldn't be two Amys in the end, that you would never have had the sense that both were 'real'. In this one, it seemed possible that other-Amy could've been let loose on the universe. The Doctor didn't come across very well, though.

Disneyland Clom.

Probably my favourite episode since The Doctor's Wife: there were some great character moments from Rory in particular (calling out the Doctor on his reckless way of time travelling - "look in a history book once in a while!"), that conclusion was quite heartbreaking even though it was clear Old Amy couldn't stick around for the next episode, there was some lovely minimal production design (and some less lovely stairwells), and that lens was a memorable piece of scifiness.

Only thing which didn't really convince me was the plot device to separate the characters which kicked off the whole episode. You're in an alien space station with cryptically labelled buttons, and someone asks you to press the button - wouldn't you ask "Which one"?

I don't know, I find the bipolar nature the thread has had the last few months very amusing. Besides Torchwood is done now isn't it.

It'd fucking better be.

If due to some hideous twist of fate Torchwood gets recomissioned, I'm going to visit the houses of everyone involved and punch them in the face, who's with me?

A wonderful episode and one of the best episodes of television I've seen this year. I love Moffat's Who so much, as much as I watched the Davis era, I never cared for it. I now look forward to every episode. A show about time travel should really play with the format and now the show does that.

I liked it, but yeah, all avoided with a single two-word question...

I really liked that though, I thought it was a very genuine way a couple would get mixed up. They're communicating but just not quite clearly enough. You can hear the arguments in the Tardis after Amy's got her head back together can't you,

"Why didn't you just say 'Push the green button'?"

"Well you didn't ask, why didn't you ask me which button to press?"

Wow. I sobbed. And there was some bad-ass slow-mo. She was in damn good shape for someone in her early 60s.

slow-mo... *sigh*

whenever I see it in a dramatic situation I immediately think

they're not going to make it

So, what WAS the first thing to use it to signify

the beginning of the end?

Anyone?
