Doctor Who

Yes. 'Cold glass of coke' has nothing to do with the breakfast bag!

Cold glass of coke = pint for kids.

SJA = Doctor Who for kids.

So yeah, basically you should watch SJA Hexx - it's pretty darn good.

Almost as good as a breakfast bag in fact :(

Make sure you watch the pilot first too. Once you get to the series, every story is done in 2 parts (30mins each) - you'll soon rattle through them all. I preferred it to Torchwood S1.

So I could say it was like Torchwood, but then better. But you'd probably cry.

See.

It's short. It's helpful. It's informative.

That's why Boy@C is lovely and respected, and the rest of you are arseholes.

:(

Edit - Awww and Campfire Burning...

Oi, I said how good it was....eventually.

They only respect me because I call them bitch.

It's a rumour I heard from my fiancée, who's really into her Doctor Who news. It seems they might not be back for a full season. At one point apparently the crew were starting filming without any confirmation over whether the actress who played Maria was coming back or not.

I've not heard that one anywhere. Don't think there's any truth in that. It's back for a run twice as long as last time.

The pilot of SJA was enough to put me off. Extremely annoying kid and sonic lippy. It was for kids though - so it's probably great for kids.

Having said that - for folks with kids old enough to appreciate Dr Who - how have they responded to the last 3 episodes. It's some of the darkest Who we've seen since the series return. I can't imagine them enjoying it.

You kidding? Kids love dark stuff. They live to be scared.

Believe it or not - the first series of SJA had some pretty dark stuff in it too, when Sarah Jane got replaced by Jane Asher. That was an especially good and grim story.

The pilot episode is the worst. And Kelsey (that's who you're talking about when you mention the annoying kid, right?) isn't in the series.

As for sonic lipstick, it sounds dodgy at first, but it's just used in the same context as the sonic screwdriver, eg, to open locks and things.

Honestly, if you like the new Who you're missing out by not watching the Sarah Jane Adventures.

Another corker.

Again the kids were transfixed throughout. At the end I asked them if they'd understood it, and they all said no, but it was still brilliant! I'm not sure if this is a testament to Turn Left's brilliance or my kids' dimness.

I'm not sure they're dim, just easily pleased. Doctor Who with no Doctor and no monsters and a plot they can't follow? You might as well let them watch Coronation Street.
