Doctor Who

Agreed but he was awesome in School re-union, saw a repeat the other day and he really was rather ace, bought out the most menace that Tennant has mustered too.

He had that great line 'Ignore the shooty dog thing' - the way he said it was great! ;)

According to the latest figures released by BARB, The Shakespeare Code gained an official viewing figure of 7.23 million, placing it 14th in the British television viewing charts for the week. It was beaten in the charts by all of the week's episodes of Coronation Street and EastEnders, and all but one episode of Emmerdale.

The figure places the episode 21st out of the 30 episodes of new Doctor Who for which the final viewing figures are known, with Gridlock's final viewing figure due this time next week. The 14th position in the chart maintains the programme's extremely strong run in the top twenty. Since the return of the series two years ago, only The Empty Child has failed to make the top twenty, finishing 21st in its week.

In the multichannel charts, Doctor Who was the most watched programme of the week with an official rating of 1.039 million viewers; an impressive achievement for a programme shown on BBC One the night before. Saturday's Confidential was 8th with 656,000 viewers, while Sunday's repeat was 22nd with 560,000 viewers.

Add on the BBC repeats, and the average episode of Doctor Who is getting 8-9 million.

Watched Gridlock again last night. Decided on reflection I quite like the story, other than the nonsensical ending, but as an episode it was ruined by Ardal O'Hanlon, surely the world's most one dimensional actor, plus some other meh performances.

(Vampire Science. Everyone says Eight Doctors is shit).

Everyone is wrong. I read that at least 5 times. It does get pretty confusing at points though...

Having said that, the only Doctor Who I'd seen before the new series was the TV movie and some old Pertwee ones with giant worm things.

Who is

Sec

?

Must be Dalek Sec, the black Dalek leader from the final episode of the last series?

Most stuff on OG can be taken with a pinch of salt - the average poster tends to assume every viewer is as obsessed with minor points of continuity and detail as they are, and that the entire show would be improved if it was smothered under a heap of self-referential nonsense.

Quite enjoyed that. Much better than last weeks, though thats not difficult to achieve. My only gripe with the episode (and its more with the series as a whole) is that Martha seems to be falling for the Doctor. I really dont want another story ark of the assistant loving the Doctor and then finding out it can never happen. Its been done these past few years with Rose. We need something new.
