Doctor Who

Just bought my first Who dvd(s). Picked up that new beginings set, can't wait to give it a watch. Are they consecutive stories? I think I'd buy more if the stories were chronologically ordered. What a paradox!

Yeah, they're three consecutive stories. The In the Beginning set works in the same. All the other releases are single stories with not much (as yet) chronological consecutivity.

I wish they'd hurry up and release Robot and Revenge of the Cybermen so that the first Tom Baker season will be complete, as all five stories linked into one another.

That's pants that Tom's 1st season is in incomplete limbo.

Thanks for the answers.

I recall Robot, it scared me as a child, I think it's the only time I actually hid behind the sofa. His first story iirc.

They are. A trilogy, as it were.

My first stories, too. Love em.

Robot. Yay! Now we only need Revenge of the Cybermen* for that first Sir Thomas of Baker season.

* Yes, I know it's supposed to be a bit pants, but I haven't seen it in nearly 30 years, plus, as stated, it completes that first season with it's mini-arc.

Robot in May

Great stuff, i've only got a yarred copy of this from UKNova. Watched it last night funnily enough.

Its amazing how Tom slips into the role.

As for the story, its pretty good. A wobbly robot and some poor effects dont detract from it at all. Toy tank anyone :(

Hope Tom's doing a Commentary track.

Watching Ark in Space at the moment. I think its one of my fave 'Classic' Who's.

So anyway, I've taken to watching a couple of random episodes on youtube of a evening. Is anyone else doing this? I watched the last episode of Talons of Weng-Chiang (great) and the first episode of The Android invasion (not so great, although it featured Hagbourne, where my aunt and uncle used to live) last night.

There's talk of Michael Sheen taking over from David Tennant as The Doctor:

He's playing Brian Clough in Steven Frears' forthcoming film about Old Big 'Ed too; if he can pull that off then he gets my vote.

EDIT: Plus it's about time we had another curly-haired Doctor.

He's a phenomenal actor. See his performance as Tony Blair, Nero, Kenneth Williams as proof of this.

RTD himself stated he would cast Sheen as the Doctor. Plus he's Welsh so another bonus point from me :D
