Doctor Who

Ridiculous, far-fetched, insult to my intelligence - I could go on. Do they really expect me to believe there are two women in this world who would fancy wide-mouth boy? Come on.

Edit: is that every cast member who has shared a same sex kiss now then?

Well I again enjoyed this one. After seeing the next week preview last week, I was expect the same juvenile smut as Ep2. imagine my surprise that they showed restraint. Acting on occasion let it down but thats 3 enjoyable eps in a row now.

The editing was...*ahem*...interesting

Very different to the rest of the series, for sure (in that it really stood out to the point of being intrusive, though I wouldn't say I disliked it, in fact I thought it quite suited the show). Was this a different director?

Not bad tonight. Agree with Cassidy that that's now 3 good 'uns in a row (although I was a little disappointed there was no clear ET explanation to last weeks' murder-fest).

Next one looks quite interesting, if only for the fact that it reintroduces elements from ep1.

I enjoyed yesterdays episodes, not as much as the two before, but it was good nonetheless. The CGI was a bit ropey though, but that was made up for by the U.N.I.T reference. B)

Concerning the lesbian stuff, I thought it was handled pretty well. The second episode could be seen as childish, with the Torchwood team all captivated by Gwen and the alien girl doing their thing and all (which was funny), but this had none of that. Swap out the girl for a guy, and the episode could have played out in exactly the same way, which is how it should be really.

The Philoktetes reference was rather nice apart from 2 things ... 1: Philoktetes was a bloke, and 2: Philoktetes was good.

1: Why does that matter?

2: She was trying to convince her she was good.

Of all the things wrong with the show, that's hardly worth nitpicking over...

Isn't it great that Dr Who is back and so popular!!

Was in Sainsburys yesterday and a little boy was allowed to have a Dalek advent calendar. I picked one up to have a look and two kids came along with their parents, one girl, one boy, and the girl said 'Ooooh a Dalek!!', the boy said 'Ha! Are you scared of Daleks? I'm not!', 'Yes you are!' etc etc Lovely :)

Warms the most jaded and cynical of hearts doesnt it.

Just visiting Toys-R-Us is great seeing the kids nagging mum/dad nan/gramps for the remote Dalek, the remote K9 etc etc.

Its like the giddy heights of 1978 again :)

Just remembered I watched nearly all of the Invasion this weekend. Wonderful it is as well.

The animated episodes work really well and the fact their B&W really add to the effectiveness.

It was also great to see the Love Off-air documentary which proved taht without the kids of the 60's and 70's recording the soundtrack of the episodes when they were broadcast . I wouldnt have been sat down watching The Invasion on DVD.

This thread is probably chocker with spoilers as usual, so I'm not reading one word of it (it's hard enough avoiding the spoilers the BBC splash around from the second the show finishes - although, the the Torchwood ones are nowhere near as bad as the Doctor Who ones).

I just felt I should pop in to state my opinion that Torchwood is truly fantastic television, and the BBC should be fucking chuffed with themselves. It's just so damn good!

Also - respect is clearly due for a program that can make Daniela Denby-Ashe look hot!

Your brave posting that, your opinion will be worth as much as mine is on the forum if you keep that up ;)
