Is it just me, or is Owen's mouth about five miles wide? He looks like his jaw is about to fall off.

Anyone else find it rather disturbing that he was effectively using an alien date rape drug? ^_^

And that they played the scene for laughs? :)

Episode 2 was like a criminal rip of 'liquid sky' though, the most blatent plagiarism i've seen for a long time.
Episode two was a complete rip-off of an ep of the 'new' Outer Limits from about ten years ago:

...and Angel, season 1, episode 2 (ironically), Lonely Hearts.

Only just managed to get back onto the forums, and I really, really loved Torchwood.

In fact, I'm still thinking of that bit where Captain Jack asks the bloke who had been brought back to life what he saw when he died. "Nothing... oh, god! There's nothing!". Realised that if you couldn't die, you'd be pretty curious to know what it's actually like when you do die. Great stuff though - make-up on the weevil was great, the second episode didn't turn out to be an excuse for alien lezzing and also outlined how great it is to have a (ex)copper's perspective on the activities of Torchwood. Also impressed with the unexpected turns of the first episode too.

I really am 100% totally hooked.

I thought it was a lot of fun and very enjoyable for a Sunday night. Regarding Eve Myles, I thought she looked remarkably like Zooey whats-her-name off of HitchHikers (and not at all ugly, you blindos).

I did laugh during the bit in the second one where Carys has escaped from TW and is checking out the adverts and couples, when it goes all Sir Digby Chicken Caesar. I was humming his theme music in my head.

That was pretty enjoyable, even if not the Best Thing Evar.

Jack seemed awfully precious about the Doctor's hand, didn't he? I wonder if that will have a big role to play at some point down the line?

Got to say though; even though I like the Torchwood premise, part of me really wishes RTD had never come up with it in the frst place and just used UNIT instead. UNIT the Series could've been awsome (and probably been slightly more believable too).

Are we to presume that vast numbers of Torchwood personnel were killed during the Cyberman / Dalek war? There seemed to be brigades of them in the Torchwood Tower, while the Cardiff Branch (sited on a, presumably, very important space/time rift) only has a team of five.

The holding cells were very Silence of the Lambs, weren't they? Maybe the Weevil will do a 'Miggs' next time someone walks past it's cell? :)

I'd think so, it did seem to very much be the headquarters. I'd wager that branch he mentioned had 'gone missing... for now' (or something like that) will be appearing at somepoint though...

I showed the kids An Unearthly Child last night to see how they would react to a bit of ultra-retro-Who.

The seven year old was hooked immediately and now wants to watch the whole series right through.

The three year olds were also fascinated by the way the Tardis looked different inside (compared to the new version) and the fact that the Doctor was an old man. Although having watched both the new series they were all comfortable with the idea of the Doctor having a different appearance.

The five year old was bored and moaned from the beginning about it being in black and white.

They were all running around the house this morning shouting "exterminate!"

I'm not sure what, if anything, this tells us.

Better lock the topic now then.

Why? So no one can post saying they thought it was crap? :)

Fascist!

The bit about the guy who was brought back to life - I now get why Jack asked him what he saw when he died. Very cool angle, this whole obsession with death.

Again I say it's got good potential but is dreary as fuck to watch.
