Doctor Who

That building he was stood on i helped build i've stood up there where he was. You get an excellent view as you can see all the way up the severn estuary to the bridges on a good day. Highest residential building in wales for now anyways. That'll change soon and they'll have a bigger building for him to stand on. Second episode was better couldn't help but laugh at the came and went gag. Those stupid lights in their range rover annoyed me though.

Well, that was... OK. I quite enjoyed it, and I'll watch it next week, but I'm not sure I'd bother without the Who connection. There's nothing there so far that makes me care about any of the characters, and Jack's far more fun when he's camping around in Who than when he's trying to be all enigmatic in Torchwood.

Gwen Cooper is both ugly and annoying. Not great traits for a lead character.

Oh, and it's all a bit... Welsh. Not that I have anything against our simple country cousins, but there's no denying that a Welsh accent does have the unfortunate effect of making its owner sound a bit thick. In fact it's second only to the Brummie accent in the "Urban Stupid" stakes. Ah well, as long as we get a cameo from Ivor the Engine I'm sure it'll all work out for the best.

That was staggeringly okay. Some funny bits, some totally lame bits; there was some cracking dialogue and some super-lazy pieces of half-arsed plotting. Jack's still the fucking man, but he fights like a girl and I'm not sure about this whole 'invulnerable' thing - I imagine that might take the tension out of some of future episodes if we know he can't be hurt or injured.

"He came and went." ^_^

I'm enjoying it so far. It's very different from Doctor Who, in both style and subject matter, but that can only be a good thing. It certainly makes a change from the usual spin-off fare, as it actually justifies its existence as a seperate entity.

Also, I take it the severed hand was the Doctor's? I thought that was a nice touch.
