Why don't spoiler tags work for me?

If you have any sort of code in the spoiler tags, it will break them. If you take the code out (or maybe just on first effort) the spoiler box seems to be missing. Refresh the page, it should work.

I didn't have any code, but the refresh seemed to do the trick anyway. Cheers.

I don't think it's anything from the old series - although it is something that's obviously required for the Daleks to kick-start a regeneration of their race. It's something they can probably use to turn biological matter into daleks or something. I can imagine the Daleks see the cybermen as an endless emotionless army that would make perfect daleks - since it was the human emotions and feelings inside them that drove them mad at the end of series 1.

as I said - watched bad wolf/potw last night - brilliant episodes.

So - given that we've had a whole series now and can do a fair comparison, who is it ... DT or CE. CE still edges it for me as I reckon he does "angry" much better - but then again, DT is better at manic and slightly mad.

Genesis does just mean beginning or origin, so i don't think we should be reading too much into it. The only thing that leads me to believe it might be D-boy or whaeer is that their "must protect" chanting sounded more religious than practical. But then, they always sound a bit mental.

link? given that she had quite a prominent role in AoG, doesn't seem to make sense to use her again later - although, of course, that didn't stop Star Trek TNG/Voyager/Deep Space 9 etc re-using the same actors...

Pinched from Stuarts forum.

The new companion...

Playing a different character to the one who got her brains pulled out on Saturday, though - she'll be 'Martha Jones'. Odd name for a companion perhaps, 'Martha'.

Yum.

Maybe she's american, you know, for the Sci-Fi channel audience?

nicked from OG

Having been first to break the news yesterday of Billie Piper's confirmed departure from Doctor Who, today's issue of The Sun states that "Former Crossroads stunner Freema Agyeman was last night revealed to be the front-runner to replace Billie Piper in Doctor Who. Freema, 26, will appear in the final two episodes of the BBC1 sci-fi's current series playing the character Adeola. She joins the Timelord - played by David Tennant - and his sidekick Rose Tyler in battle against the dreaded Cybermen. Insiders say Freema, will join the Doctor in the Tardis full-time in the third series after her appearance in the episodes called Army Of Ghosts and Doomsday. ... The highlight of Freema's career so far has been playing seductress Lola Wise in doomed ITV soap Crossroads in 2001. She said: 'I loved playing Lola. She was an 18-year-old girl with a lot of angst. She wanted to sleep with all the boys and have fun.' The Londoner, who left Middlesex University with a BA Honours degree in Performing Arts and Design, also appeared in Casualty, The Bill and Silent Witness. Last night a BBC source said: 'Freema is a fantastic actress. She is great in the final episode. And she is more than capable of stepping into Billie's shoes to play the Doctor's new cohort. No one knew Billie could act before we gave her the job — and she has proved to be a sensation.' Freema, who also studied at Radford University in Virginia in America, could join the Timelord in new adventures that will see them meeting Shakespeare in the third series. Filming starts in just five weeks. ... Last night a BBC spokeswoman refused to confirm Freema was taking over from Billie as Dr Who's sidekick. Other names linked to the role include former EastEnder Michelle Ryan (Zoe Slater). She is believed to have auditioned with show bosses for the part."

sounds like she's the one... bets are on some kind of parallel universe thing - it says that she features in the doomsday episode as well.

According to Bad Ambassador on Stuarts forum the press release is embargoed until tonight.

why aint he posting on here currently, have we offended the bad ambassador?

I think the press release got out early and its now pulled until tomorrow, or midnight at least.

Happens all the time. I guess producers might take a shine to someone playing a small part and think of them when a bigger role comes up.

Maybe so, but it's still quite a rapid reappearance for an actress that could be introduced as a new character in (potentially) two episodes time. Unless the characters are linked in some way.

Reminds me of old Australian soaps where it seemed that the same five actors used to appear in everything.

watch as much TV as I do, US or UK and all the actors seem to appear in everything. So I dont find it an issue at all.

Two episodes time actually works out at about a year in real time so it's hardly like she'll be fresh in everyone's memory...

she won't appear on our screens until April next year  (this series has flown by...) so - it's not actually that close, and it's not as though she's been that significant.

Wonder what they'll do with her though - the whole Rose family thing covered a LOT of ground. Single mums, boring lives, effects of the doctor, destroying relationships, regeneration, seperation - not sure what they can do to make this character "fresh". Hope she's not from London though - let's have a girl from out in the country or something, at least make the 'return to family' situations a bit different.
