Doctor Who

they've already said (afaik) that the Dr will be companionless for the Chrimbo special.

Really? That's what I've thought.

My elder brother doesn't believe me that Rose is leaving you see. He keeps saying she's been confirmed for the Christmas episode.

Has a 2nd Christmas episode been announced then? I sure it's a certainty, but I've never seen an official announcement.

Yeah, it was announced when the third series was announced, I believe.

The Christmas Invasion was one of the few Christmas rating successes for any network last yuletide.

Finally got round to watching 'Fear Her'. Not one of the best episodes. Whoever thought the voice of the monster in the wardrobe was scary needs a slap.

"Belly's gonna get ya"

Quite a nice ending though and i'm looking forward to next weeks.

My Tardis box-set's falling to bits- the panels aren't put together properly, so they just gradually pull apart over time. It feels pretty shoddily constructed, to be honest.

Interesting speculation there scottcr. Could we be seeing a companion-less Doctor at the start of S3 perhaps? That could be interesting, even if only for an episode or two.

Only for a short time though. It would become pretty boring if it was just the Doctor on his own for vast periods, plus it would make it a damn sight harder for him to explain anything away if he has noone to speak to!

He was on his own once before, in The Deadly Assassin. Great story that.

Ive no problem with short stints of just the Doctor, but an entire series of just him on his own? With NO other recurring characters would be pretty boring. Who would he build up a good bit of banter with or talk about past events? Unless they gave the Tardis a voice.......please DONT!

I'm still certain that the beeb want us to all think that Rose is going to die.

That way - when something that suggests that Rose dies in the programme actually happens, we'll believe it (turned into a cyberman potentially) - but then the Dr will make it all right again.

Im bored and just came up with an idea, what would make a good story is if one of the past assistants which the Doctor dumped actually joined Torchwood to help track him down and dish the dirt. I dunno who it could be, but said assistant could go on to say be one of the Doctors biggest enemies. Would make some interesting TV.

BBC site has updated by the way "She's not Rose Tyler. Not any more."

Great! Rose goes Cyber. Billie Piper can go on to do other things whilst the charcter of Cyber-Rose can be played by anyone in a tin-man suit.

I forsee series 3 to tackle the human/robot, emotion vs. logic paradigm. Ala Spock, Data, Pinnochio.

Cyber-Rose yesterday.

I do hope they try something a bit interesting for the next companion. I don't want Rose 2.

She was very interesting, I think. Indeed, without the character "Rose", I don't think Series 1 would have been a success at all, and we wouldn't be sitting here talking about/slagging off Series 2.

But yes, they need to do something different with the next assistant. As ever, really.

I agree. Sorry, I meant something interesting as in "not the same as Rose". Rose has been a terrific companion overall, even if it is time for her to go.

Incidentally my S1 box set is still in pristine condition almost a year on... what have you all been doing with yours? It's not a real TARDIS you know, so if you've been trying to travel through time and space in it then you've only got yourselves to blame if it's beginning to look a little tatty.

Its not that, but maybe I shouldnt have masterbated so often over it, but you'd think that would make it stick together more not fall apart :(:P

That one's ammo for drthvder who has actually been caught wanking over George Lucas's wobbling jowls ;)

Is the Radio Times spoiler free?

Not sure about the contents, but the cover certainly is, well sort of...

Spoiler from the Doctor Who Adventures comic...

It has a picture of Cybermen wielding big, Aliens-esque firearms.
