Maybe. But that didn't happen, so he remains the worst Doctor. I mean, who is worse than him? (and don't say Tom, or I'll know you're just trying to be provocative) :(

I couldn't place Tom anywhere in a league, to be honest. I don't know. I don't hate any of the Doctors, but I'd rate Troughton and Pertwee above Tom. That's just me.

He's alright. I've just never taken to him. Genesis is excellent. That's about as good as it gets for me.

Even the cheesy wink?

Heh, his face all silvery-grey like that used to scare me actually. Yeah, those credits are okay.

But the early JNT ones rule, for me.

A personal preference is something I have no problem with. Troughton I can see, but personally I can barely tolerate Pertwee these days, except for the first season.

Genesis is excellent. That's about as good as it gets for me.

Horror of Fang Rock?

Robots of Death?

Pyramids of Mars?

Terror of the Zygons?

Talons of Weng Chiang!!!!?

I could go on. Tom is all powerful in most of the stories from '74 to '76.

All powerful. :(

He slagged the show off a fair bit after he left though, so I've read. It seems to be only recently that he's re-embraced the whole thing.

Where's Bad Ambassador with my ratings fix? This one should have done okay, being sandwiched between the football on the Beeb.

Shamelessy nicked from Marcus' post on Outpost Gallifrey:

Up again guys

6.6m - 39.7% share

The National Lottery/News looks a bit over inflated to me. Did the football overrun into their slot? This would explain the rise, which would be corrected in the final BARB figures.

Has anyone else spotted this on amazon.co.uk?

Sould prove much nicer than the standard digipak release, and it would make a nice shelf partner for the Season One Tardis box set too!

It would if the Season 1 TARDIS set wasnt shoddily made and falls apart at the slightest hint of movement in its locality.

So I'm going for the standard one for S2.

Based on next weeks trailer, and the fact that you can see Pete Tyler and Mickey in that one shot, what's the likelyhood that Jacki and 'alternate Earth' Pete get together? I also wonder if this means a possibility of Mickey back in the TARDIS as a companion again. Curious as to what that flying saucer is too.

I'm starting to get quite excited about Torchwood now, especially given it's more adult nature. Does anyone know what sort of budget it's been given?

No clue but pretty decent going by RTD's column in DWM, where he mentions huge CGI set pieces and FX sequences.

I'd say on a par with Who's at least. Then theres the fact its sharing the studio space with the Who set's so it saves cash in that respect. Its a standing set is the Torchwood hub and thats where the BBC have saved money by cross producing both shows with nearly the same production team and design team and their all in the same Studio now as well.

10 mins from my house, and I'm more likely to win the lottery than ever get through the doors :) Plus my train journey to work takes me past it twice a day. I do see the occasional camera dolly though :P

I bet you look carefully on each pass though - just on the off chance you catch a Dalek on a fag-break or something.

Bloody verdant greenery is blocking a good view in the summer, but come autumn and winter, I should be able to see right into the place

S3 spoilers due October

I really really can't see them killing Rose - it's too obvious, and to be honest, is a bit much for the family show. There's kids out there who are really attached to Rose...

rather, I think the ending will be much more positive and tbh, RTD has been building up to it since the beginning of series 1... Rose and Jackie from this earth will return to parallel earth with micky and Dad - the family and lovers re-united at last - by the Doctor... but it's the ultimate seperation. Once the rip is closed, there's no going back...

this is sci-fi tho - anything can happen.

I think they've dropped the ball with Rose's Dad. Father's Day was great but a big part of that was the pathos of the story. If. If they're now going to bring the whole family back together I think they're going to lose a lot of that power, but the way they dealt with the character at the end of the Cybermen story seems to be setting up a reconciliation further down the line...

Thing is, all this 'It's The Tylers!' stuff can be a bit soapy, but in fairness, you could argue that if you're going to be respectful to the character of the Doctor, and keep the mystique - which, the new series is definitely doing, kudos - then you need to find soapy stuff like this in the other characters or have huge sci-fiey or 'big idea' stories, which the series is clearly not interested in. Not a bad thing, natch.

lol!

no - it just seems like the "right" way to end it... I'd like it to end like that, I'm one of those strange people who actually quite likes the Tyler family and Mickey - it'd be good to seem them all get back together. For once, the Dr does something for his assistants, unlike he did with Sarah Jane.

Won't be surprised if she turns up in this ep either - but that might be pushing it!

I do think this has been RTDs plan all along.
