Doctor Who

Those were Cygnus cybermen, but didn't the Dr say in the episode where they crossed over that the timelords used to pass back and forth between dimensions all the time, but since they all died it became impossible. So how are the cygnus cybermen there?

I'm assuming its a non-conventional way of getting between worlds. It seems the two are being forced together, rather than folk going between them.

So that trailer answers one question.

The Cybermen are the Cybus Cybermen (they've got the logo) from the other dimension and our dimensoin appears to be somehow merging with that dimension.

Looks that way :(

Notice the way one person died in the trailer is a BIG giveaway as to what could be in the sphere :(

Anyway tonights, a decent enough episode of Doctor Who but most importantly an entertaining 40 odd minutes of telly.

4/5 for me enjoyed the decent performance from Tennant and Rose and the atmosphere of Sapphire and Steel the episode had.

oh and Nina Sosyana, not enough of her on telly :)

I hope that door scene wasn't an intentional nod to The Shining. Embarassing if it was.

I don't think it was anyway, she just bashed the door down undramatically in a few hits and opened it. If she bent her head through the door and sucked off the drawing in the cupboard or something, then maybe.

I thought this was...ok. Just. Not the worst, but certainly not the best.

I found it strangely boring, with only the bits with her Dad having any sense of drama. And I agree, some aspects were just plain embarrasing.

Even worse though is that I just don't know in what direction they think they're taking the series arc. Compared to last season's Bad Wolf mystery, this "oncoming storm" business just seems fairly arbitrary. Next week's looks very bad indeed, with a complete mish mash of elements, the Cybermen, Torchwood, Rose and her family, all jumbled up.

I think this will seem like a very dificult 2nd series in retrospect.

It'd be kind of like breaking into a bank vault, only instead of money, there's an angry bear wearing a coat made out of rabid piranhas.

Anyone else hoping it's the Emperor Dalek rather than a normal one?

"THEY SURVIVED THROUGH ME. AGAIN."

And Daleks vs Cybermen fighting? Fuck YES.

Can I just say next weeks trailer was f***in awesome. As was the doctors final words of Fear Her.

"there's a storm coming"

:(:)

Tennant was brilliant tonight, in places.

The scene with the girl on the bed, and at the end? Magic.

this "oncoming storm" business

The Doctor's the oncoming storm, however I feel the lead up to a bad end for the Doctor and Rose this year has overall been handled bettter than Bad Wolf.

He says without seeing the last 2 episodes :)

Everyone run i think Cassidy is about to explode in one huge geekgasm.

Nope, I'm away for slash then its off to get drunk :(

Didn't do a very good job, did he?

I think he probably got a bit distracted. I mean he told Rose he wanted to stay behind to look after his Nan, and what's the first thing he says once he's left behind? "Let's go to Paris! Just you and me Byker Grove guy!"

Not fair she won't let me out tonight, well enough about that. I can't wait for next week hope they finally put some oomph in the series, i reckon it's gonna rock.

I have a gut feeling that next weeks episode will end without a trail for the final episode.

That was like one of those dreadful episodic dramas that was on as part of the school programming and you all watched it in the television room at school.

Terrible dialogue, terrible acting, ancient premise. Utter guff.

You are so, so right. It was boring shite, really.

Oh come on you bunch of wet blankets it wasn't THAT bad. There were a few great bits in it. I might be biased tho, with working for the council and all.

That dialogue was quite funny.

No, it wasn't that bad. It wasn't that good though. It seemed to lack atmosphere to me, when it could have been very atmospheric. They're just showing the Clockwork Robot hiding under the bed in GitF on Confidential, and that's properly creepy. This was full of sunshine.
