Doctor Who

That was terrible. Felt awfully disjointed and unsatisfying. Again, like last week, the Doctor felt like a passenger and some of those speeches..."Love is A PROMISE!", urgh. I feel the last 3 episodes were all a bit duff, really - though the other 9 episodes ranged from decent to great, so I suppose that's not a bad run.

As to the future Danny, I've just read something that suggests Clara was going to tell Danny that she was pregnant, based on one of the post-it notes having 'three months' written on it, plus when the Doctor scanned her he said she was "...a mess of chemicals."

I presume, if that line of thinking has any merit, that she was going to tell the Doctor she wouldn't be able to travel anymore because of the forthcoming birth. Perhaps we'll find out at Christmas, as apparently she's in it.

The problem is modern Who doesn't lend itself well to movie-style action adventure - jets crashing, air force one, armies all over the world, global news bulletins, etc. It's a down to earth character drama and should be treated as such. Day of the Doctor centered around a big red button in a shed, Time of the Doctor around a little village, the Big Bang - despite being about the fate of the universe - around a few people in a deserted museum. It's in situations like that - a few people in a limited location - where Who really shines. Whenever it tries to go "global" it falls on its face.

So uh..if Danny died, how did future space Danny from the 'hunt nothing' episode get a soldier toy....and look like Danny. And make references to Clara grandma.

The Santa bit seemed to say the story isn't over yet. They're going to find him wrapped under the Christmas tree or something.

Yep. It's not a hard and fast rule, but the smaller the scope of both the setting and the monster's ambitions the better the episode is likely to be.

Clara could have been already pregnant with Danny's child before he died?

I was actually expecting that to be the reveal in the cafe scene- you don't need a fancy Sci-Fi excuse for a man to become a father posthumously.

Or maybe through that magic bracelet the kid that was brought back was actually spat out of Clara's timey wimey vagina (we all saw it!) and its their sprog.

We watched Blink last night for the first time in years. It's essentially perfect.

And just like the first time I got a real "Lalla Ward Romana" vibe from Sally when she was striding around in her long coat. It's such a pity she never became an ongoing character. It's still possible, I suppose.
