Doctor Who

I liked that there was that whole theme about how sad it was that the space programme had declined and no one cared about or had any way to get into space any more.

Except that a bunch of Mexicans were hanging about on the Moon prospecting for minerals. How did they get there then?

They went up 10 years earlier.

Why did they pick Mexicans anyway? Not really renowned for their space programme. I'll guess that the genius who wrote this would have preferred some Chilean miners (mooners?) but that would be too obvious, and who would buy a Chilean space programme, so he thought he'd pick somewhere 'nearby'.

The 4.5 billion year old moon being described repeatedly as 100 million years old. Wtf? Did the writer not have access to google?

In the Doctor Who universe, the moon only arrived in orbit around Earth around 100 million years ago, it was the Moon's arrival that sent the Silurians into hibernation as they thought it was going to crash into the Earth or cause massive environmental damage. So depite there being a huge load of scientific bollocks in the episode, that bit was technically accurate. :)

Good episode again. Some connections to the arc, but told it's own self contained story with a good premise (not flooded by too many ideas) and good guest stars.

Not going to be anyone's stand out episode, but a fine hour's entertainment.

As someone else pointed out - Gus has been trying to get the Doctor to come since at least the closing scene of "The Big Bang"

The Doctor receives a telephone call alerting him to the presence of an escaped Egyptian goddess on the Orient Express, in space.
