Doctor Who

I liked the Doctor and Robin's last conversation. The stuff about legends being real reminded me of this - even though the Doctor's attitude to the possibility that Robin Hood could be real was the exact opposite of what he says in the novel quote:

Oh, alright then. There is a Doctor Who canon.

The Doctor defined it in The Gallifrey Chronicles...

"Sherlock Holmes solved the case before I could, as I recall."

"Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character," Trix pointed out.

The Doctor grinned. "My dear, one of the things you'll learn is that it's all real. Every word of every novel is real, every frame of every movie, every panel of every comic strip."

"But that's just not possible. I mean some books contradict other ones and -"

The Doctor was ignoring her.

-- Lance Parkin, The Gallifrey Chronicles.

He later refined it in The Unicorn and the Wasp when he told Donna that there is no Noddy.

So Doctor Who canon looks like this...

My daughter grasped this the other day in a conversation we had on the bus. She said, "There's three ways of getting to all the different lands. The Faraway Tree, whirlwinds, and Doctor Who's little house."

Sorry I think I must of slipped into an alternate dimension or something, a Dr Who episode getting near universal love on rllmuk? What's going on???

Oh and did anyone else think Clara's "So, Last of the Timelords" comment was a bit odd, seeing as we now know Gallifrey's out there?
