I wonder if there's any chance we'll see Christopher Ecclescake at the end of Day of the Doctor.

Not much given how much of a sour puss Eccleston has been regarding the show. Would love to see it though.

I agree that this mini should have been in the actual episode. Would have been a great opening scene, really glad they made it :D

Much as I enjoyed the trailer, I have no idea who those women were, what their significance is, or for that matter what they were talking about. Could someone spoiler me up an idiot's guide please? :)

It's just a fun but ultimately pointless back reference to the Tom Baker story The Brain of Morbius. Pure fan service of course, and why not.

I've just realised something else. You know how Ecclestone is definitely, positively certainly not going to return for the special? Well...

Q: Finally, running a show like Doctor Who is always going to be hard work… But how much fun was it? Bringing back the Eighth Doctor?

SM: Oh, it was a complete treat! It was always frustrating that we never got to see more of him! The completist in me… the ‘box set man’ in me wants every box ticked and I wanted every regeneration scene! And we get to see the Paul McGann Doctor regenerate into the John Hurt Doctor! I love regeneration episodes – there’s nothing more exciting! And in the anniversary year we get to see two regenerations… That’s pretty cool!

I'm not reading too much into it, but I wouldn't rule it out either.

Ah right. That's from before I started watching and I don't think I ever had that book from the library either. Another of many references that goes over my head. :)

Incidentally, as well as acknowledging the audios it also confirms that it's possible for the Time Lords to change their sex when they regenerate.

I think they cleverly left it a bit vague - it's possible if you regenerate their way, but still not necessarily if you do it 'naturally'.

Also lots of great lines in that very short episode. Almost poetic in places.
