Doctor Who

That was really enjoyable. Excellent.

How old is Scott supposed to be, though, if we was sending men to their deaths 30 years earlier in WWII!?

Yeah, they could have moved the story back 20 years and made no difference. Minor gripe though.

Nice sci-fi premise, and interesting take on the alien-ness of the Doctor.

Edit- Probably a coincidence but I liked that their pocket universe vortex looks like the one from TNG's Remember Me.

Yes. That and Poltergeist, with the electronic equipment setup and the rope rescue.

A very good episode indeed. I thought Scott and Raine were excellent. The idea of the

time traveller and going through Earth's history to capture pictures

was great.

I could imagine Scott being in his early fifties and being in military intelligence in his early 20s.

Oh shit. I missed that when I looked at it on my iPhone.

FUCKING FUCK OFF WITH RIVER FUCKING SONG.

FUCK.

What is wrong with him? Everyone is sick to death of her.

Fucking hell. Stop ruining Who.

I really thought that we'd finally seen the back of her.

I still like her

15 minutes late to the episode(bloody relatves!) so I had to watch it again to really see how the entire thing played out.

All in all, Mark Gatiss and Neil Cross have now both the better episodes of this season. Step up your game Moffat.

A decent episode, guess the ropey space Egypt episode was an anomaly for Neil Cross. I kept wishing that psychic lady was the current companion, as she felt like an actual believable human character, as opposed to Clara who comes across as more of a ball of forced sassiness and affectations.

Yeah, everyone seems to have picked up on her weird unblinking chirpiness now, even the dopes I watched this one with (parents lol). I really hope it's part of a long-game storyline and not just how she is. Coupled with the distracting hotness she simply doesn't sit right with me.

Yeah, that was great. Along with everything else, it was great to have a reminder that the TARDIS has a personality. :)

Speaking of Big Finish, I jumped back in myself after reading the earlier posts. I picked up the first few Eighth Doctor main range audios years ago along with Circular Time, and loved the first EDA series played on Radio 4. I had no idea the EDAs went on for another three series though, so I picked up the first of the second lot, the first Fourth Doctor one (I had no idea Tom Baker had finally joined up!), and Spare Parts which I'd been meaning to listen to for years. It's great so far, and Davison is as perfect in it.

Comfortably the best episode of this run. None of the awkwardness of last week, or the sheer silliness of the talking star/space egypt abomination. Dougray Scott was great, the core idea was nicely imagined and well delivered, and it was the scariest one for a while.

But...

The lovesick bone creature denouement was a slight bum note. And while Coleman does provide undeniable eye-candy, the character is starting to grate. I liked Rose, and loved Pond, but something interesting needs to happen with Clara and soon, as the perky-quirky-big-eyes thing is all too one-note.

Had a dream last night that Four and Five both met in the library at the Uni I used to go to.

Four was there already and had set a team of students trying to break through a wall with drills for some reason (there were puzzled queries from a librarian as to why they were wearing facemasks to read) when I spotted a glimpse of the white flannels.

Found the two of them guardedly assessing one another half way down an aisle of books then there was a hug.
