Zoo Keeper 8/10

o/\o

good call

.::: That's utterly wrong. It doesn't deserve a score at all.

The game needs a warning plastered all over it, instead. And sure as hell should stay out of any room were people need to be productive.

;)

Too right...

there's a couple of DS' in the office just now, and the amount of time some one with a "spare 6 minutes" tries to better my score on Time Trial is quite worrying.

Was the online part of SC reviewed in a tiny box as an aside, or was it incorporated into the main review?

I've only had chance to quickly skim through the review, but it looks as if it's incorporated into the main review, briefly mentioning downloadable maps and the co op mode.

Tekken 5- PS2 8/10

Acers, I've been hoping this would turn out decent, it may be the first Tekken title I've bought since 3.

Star Fox: Assault- GC 4/10

Ouch...! I don't accept that it's really this bad. It was one of the reasons I originally bought the Cube, and the videos all make it look like fun. Very disappointed if it turns out to be this underwhelming.

Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening- PS2 8/10

Excellent, seems as though it's a world away from the droning monotony of DMC2, reports that it's really hard are a tad worrying, as I was never exactly shit hot at DMC1.

Sold, Ocean were awesome, it's such a shame they couldn't keep up with the console era, it's funny as the licensed tactics they used back in the 8 & 16 bit era, have since served the industry so well....well in a purely monetary sense.

Even if it is incorporated in a vague "we'll give you the mistaken impression that we've played it without actually saying so" kinda way as so many reviews do these days, the truth will be that they've played the co-op (they can do that split-screen if necessary) but have had little access to Spies vs Mercs, which won't be up and running properly until an Ubisoft press event or the big LIVE switch-on.

So you can raise that score by 1.

Stop reading now if you don't like discussion on review scores...I'm warning you..last chance....oh well......

I know it's only a review score (their opinion, yadda, yadda, yadda), but I honestly think that's overly harsh (perhaps because the previous two were so good?). IMO, though I have admittedly not fully completed it yet (I just can't stop playing RE4!), it's more of a 6.0591254789/10. It's not great, but it's not the complete turd which a score like that generally suggests either.

That's just my opinion, no more or less valid than theirs you understand. This just seemed like a good place to post it.

They better be released within a day or they can fuck off.

Where's the Fifa Street review? I wanted to see them completely slate it after the damning preview last month. Maybe EA decided not to send them one.

Yes, and we all know what happens when GamesTM aren't given a review copy...

Do like I did - die three times straight away and unlock Easy mode. I've not looked back, really. Just allows me to have plenty of fun without the game tipping sand into my mouth. Besides, all your achievements are stored/recorded in a central vault, that allows you to change difficulties and replay missions with ease, and keeping the same pumped-up Dante.

I hate games that try to push me harder than I want to be pushed - I'm David Jaffe's 'hardcore mainstream', me - but DMC3 has enough flexibility to allow fumblers like me to look and feel cool without too much cost. Hey, if anything, being allowed to settle into the game on Easy has actually made me *want* to go back and tackle those levels on the higher settings.

You may want to edit that quote as it came from me, and I'm sure Swainy doesn't want anyone thinking he's a wuss

Totally agree with everything you said though. I played the first DMC on easy, simply because I hated the enforced button bashing which the harder difficulty modes necessitated. I was far happier in easy auto, and I think it's decent of Capcom to add the option. Bloody hell, DMC3, Resi 4, Viewtiful Joe 2..will the Capcom goodness ever end?

hey rob

cheers for letting us have a good go at StarFox the other day.

I think Games™ have been a little generous, however, with 4 - and I can't begin to imagine where the 6s and 7s from other publications have come from
