[horde] New Guild Officer

Following Talbert's ongoing hiatus I think we should move someone else up to the rank of Officer. The role is open to anyone, irrespective of level and time spent in the game, though they must have spent at least 1 month in the guild. If you want to do it then just post in reply to this thread. We're looking for someone active on here, who knows about the game, the other members of the guild and who wants to do it. A different skill set to those of us already in the officer position would be a plus too I think.

Well, i wasn't going to nominate myself (i know you asked people who were interested to step up, but i'm not the kind of person to do that), but since a couple of people mentioned my name in the other thread, i'd be happy to step up.

Jia seems to play the game 24/7, so would be a good candidate based on that, if he could drag himself away from the game and interact more on the forum (and he's apparently reading this, so looks like he's improving on that score). Isch and Mankey would be good candidates, too, and there are probably others who i can't think of, but those spring to mind since i've been questing with them lately.

Again, another who wasn't going to put himself forward. Happy to oblige if you's want be to, but as has been noted, not too active on the forum as yet...

I really do think it should be someone active in the game. Biased as i am (Having spent the most time questing with them) i think Mankey, Khor or Isch would all be good choices for the position.

While we're on the subject of rank, might it be an idea to discuss the plans for a banker? I think it might be an idea to have a banker for each set of materials eg. a banker JUST for metals, one for jewels, one for cloth etc. With the amounts being produced, it'd be a cool idea to keep a lot in reserve not just for "old hands" who are well advanced in their skill, but for new craftsmen and lower alt. chars. to become good. It might be an idea to have people with the same skill discuss their specialisations (as has been done with the Mechanics in the guild).

One love yo

I'd like to put myself up for this ;)

I'm a Tauren, and representative of Thunder Bluff...

I don't play as much as the Jias or Urukhais, but barring this week of broadband deprivation, I'm around a fair amount.

I'm also possibly on the forum more than many other regulars, and can bring this to the table as an asset. You can tell I work for a Consultancy can't you? :(

Any of the members who've been around since the start, know stuff about the game. Can help others.

Only requirements for me. Being around here isn't as important as news / ideas can be passed around guild chat easily.

"at least 1 month in the guild"

Oh come on Zyz.. The games been out for a month! Lets relax a bit.. If someone exceptional, who hasnt been a member for this exact period, they should still be electable.. Thats my opinion..

So, So far we have:

1. Khorgren

2. Jiaraz

3. Swifthorn

(Only those who put themselves forward should be written down, or those who accept an invitation to become a officer)

Anyone else willing to come forth? I think the officers currently in place, Ragler, Zyzyx and Louhi, should not be allowed a vote in this election and I will personally not bring any candidates forward, since I dont want to tilt the vote. Remember people, personal opinions of individuals arent that important, its more the bonus they will add to the guild..

- Regarding bank Jia, The individual elected will be discussing these issues more intimately with us, and all other members will be informed upon a banking system which will be suitable to everyone... Currently, with Talbert away, the banking system is down! - Do not send items to Banksy - Lets discuss these things in another post and keep this post on topic!

I guess I should retract my vote if Guild Officers aren't allowed. To be brutally honest I'd be happy with either Khorgren, Ischemic or the small farmstead in Wales. I'd actually be happy with Jiaraz as well, but seeing as Ragler is desperate to get him on the Officers team I'd imagine he has some kind of global Guild takeover planned and needs another of "his people" in place to act out the coup. :P

It's all become clear now. Uruk is Stalin, Zyz is Lenin and you're Trotsky.

If I were you I'd hide all the ice picks.

Bah! rumbled! No stealth on me! as stealthy as a tank!

"STEALTHTANK!" :D

Does this mean that Uruk/Rag is gonna kill off Zyzyx and put everyone in gulags? :P

That'd be pretty cool actually...

I think the position is one of certain responsibility. I.e. Often going out of your way to help others, where there's no gain for yourself (or rather, your character).

See, in some ways I believed the post was more about putting the Guild before your own personal enhancement. I know, in theory, everyone has this side to them, but as an Officier I took it upon myself to take this on further than one normally would.

I don't know if anyone agrees, that's just how I felt about it on a personal level.

I've also been helped by my fair share of officers in the past, so thank you :P

Good luck with the appointment, apologies again for fading away - I felt I had to say something as I was not playing and fulfilling my role effectively within the guild.

P.S. I will abstain from the vote, it's hardly fair that I cast one.

Damn, Youve all figured me out!

Now silence Louhi! Or ill have you removed under my 5 week plan!

The World as we know it shall be mine!!! Mwahahahaha!!! *Cough Cough*

Uhm, Nope.... I dont mind who we appoint, I just want someone whos capable, and willing to deal with almost any situation within the guild, and is willing to dedicate time to the cause of the Horde and to developing the guild further than it already is.

Current People on Lists:

1. Khorgren

2. Jiaraz

3. Swifthorn

4. Magonarok (MM)

5. Ischemic

6. Urukai - Does not fit qualifications, So Currently Excluded

I think we have enough people here to begin a vote? Should we set up a voting post and then see how it goes?

Voting is now up!

In case the message of the day doesnt make sense then:

Voting is being done by in-game post to me (Zyzyx) please put the name of who you are voting for in the subject line. You can vote for:

1. Khorgren

2. Jiaraz

3. Swifthorn

4. Mankath (MM)

5. Ischemic

6. Armcutter

7. none

Voting will close on Sunday night. You can vote for yourself, officers can vote. I will abstain and decide in the event of a draw.

Everyone OK with this method?

It's the easiest but it's completely arbitrary and undemocratic. Especially as the likelihood of a draw is quite high.

I realise I'm probably putting myself out of the running with this contentiousness, but hey-- martyr for democracy and all that :D

WAIT! I'm coming back!

I've just quit my job to become a full time WOW player. I'm setting up with Urukhai, and hope to make it an occupation by exploiting loopholes in their

No need for a new officer, I'm going to run 2 pcs - one for guild, one for my business.

I will be online soon! :D
