Decided to keep the colour fill on the letters nice and simple, the markers left lines which give them some texture anyway so skipping any highlights. I’ll need to work out how to get a proper fill tho to avoid this next time. Didn’t want to go too dark with the colours so avoided doing a second layer, but I expect that’s how to avoid streak lines. The cloud turned out a bit lame, but I enjoyed using a white Posca pen to do the letter outline, could maybe have gone a bit thicker there. I decided to stick to the blue of Donald’s sailor jacket, red of his bow and yellow beak for the colour scheme. The crown probably should be yellow, but liked the idea of it being the same blue as Donald's cap. The character feels a bit floaty on its own at the side, should have put something behind it to make the white feathers pop off the page, maybe overlap with the letters.

I’m calling this one done and moving on.

My current obsession with Read Dead has crossed over to my own concept art stuff at the moment. Hence some photoshoppery.

Had great fun with this :)

Ironically, the whole idea was actually based on the Magnificent Seven, so it feels vaguely 'okay' that I've come full circle :p

This thread reminded me of when I created this off the top of my head shortly after playing child of light. It’s a photo of a screen though rather than the actual direct image.

Been playing around with a cool little experimental algorithmic tool that I randomed across on someones portfolio, GauGAN.

Might be a fun little way of quickly comping together a plate to work further on top of with more traditional means. Or just to dick around with for luls.

Apparently there are some GANs that can do pretty good faces now too. Not at all creepy. Nope. :)

Started work on a Don't Starve-themed piece last night, I've been meaning to make for a long time; basically me and the Mrs and her kids as characters from the game.

Here's me:

One of my boys' birthdays next week, as is tradition I'm making him a piece of art for his room :) He's obsessed with a book series known as Mr Penguin right now, so I've had a go at making my own cover!

Pretty please with how it turned out, given it started as this:

I've been doing a series of this kind of idiocy for a while. Some are better than others. All are dumb.

Edit. Not all are misspelled. Jesus Christ. Brb.

Edit edit. Hopefully spelled right this time...
