Anyone else a fan? You should be. It's an amazing show. Series 1-3 DVDs available.

Anyways, saw Series 4 episode 1 last night. Some thoughts:

Click For Spoiler

I thought it was rubbish to begin with. I liked the introduction of the Glenn Close character, thought she worked really well and was kinda hot in an oh-so-wrong way. But there was just no bite to it, it was the same Shield and something was clearly missing. They hinted at this whole new direction with Vic doing more normal detective work. Oven face and Vic are all that's left of the strike team. T-Von is nowhere to be seen, Lemonhead shows up briefly and there's no sign of Shane. Vic and Acevada almost coming to blows was brilliant stuff, still wasn't impressed. But that final scene, oh man. That was incredible. If they can keep Shane as the big rival, then have Whims still working her stuff in the background then this could be an amazing season.

RESPECT.

final rating GGGG

I really enjoyed the first two seasons. I thought S3 was good but a bit "samey" so I'm less likely to rush out and buy it.

I'm hoping S4's new main cast member will change some of the relationship dynamics especially with the detectives.

Season 3 landed on my doorstep a couple of days back. It's been an absolute age since I saw the first two seasons, so I've been rewatching them over the past few days in anticipation of the 'new' stuff. Looking forward to it immensely, and I've got someone sorting me out with Season 4 too. Ace.

import duty mate?

Now you mention it, the only 2 DVDs out of the many I've imported which I've had to pay Customs duty on were The Shield Seasons 1 & 2. Coincidence or something more sinister?

I guess the fourth season will hit Channel 5 in the next few months.

Edit: Oh, June 16th.

Just watched the first ep, it was good. However, they seemed to be pussyfooting around Close, which annoyed me slightly, as if the actors themselves were too in awe of her presence. But then Vic got more settled in, thankfully.

I'm going to watch the second episode (good quality ones are up now, thanks to them being aired) on Thursday, along with the third, as they're shown Wednesday evening in the 'States.

Woo!

It depressed me really badly, this show.

Well, compounded an existing depression/crisis.

After the grenade really upset me.

One of the greatest and most underated shows ever. I think I need to re watch it

For me it's the best "cop show" ever made - and that's a lot of competition. Probably the best ending to a show for me as well.
