Proberly but thats the thing, trying to hunt them down will to ages as theres no one site, and unless you know the game, you won't bother.

In all fairness, they're not great, but certainly worth the cover price, and you get the mag too. It depends on how much you like shmups and remakes.

I think they're all full versions too.

I had the full version of Melty Blood and Airrade. They are awesome.

The Christmas version of Airrade is cool as well. Especially when the first sound you're greeted to is "MERRY CHRISTMASU!" in an anime type voice.

Speaking of which the Anime's that Melty Blood* and Air are based on are quite good as well. I haven't played the original games though.... ;)

You may not have heard of him, but Koji Wada has released a new freeware platformer in the vein of Snow Bros, Bubble bobble.

Gameplay and graphics feature various references to classic games (Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands, Pop'N'Twinbee, Ordyne, or that fantastic cutesy arcade stuff) - for a freeware game its a real find :

THE ESSENTIAL GAMES

BREAKQUEST

- a fantasic arcanoid clone with superb graphics and themed levels (Arkanoid, pool, bowling) - lots of powerups and nice physics too.

LINK - Full game here - 100 levels = $19.95

Guess what. I downloaded this BY CHANCE, and was going to come on here and say how good it was.

Cracking little game, go get the demo at least (Gamershell I find best for demos)

that taito pastiche game looks ok but the sprites are too damn big..

The sprites are HUGE. I found it impossible to play, because of this and the fact that there are so many platforms that it's near impossible to jump on enemies as you just land on the platform above.

Cho Ren Sha 68k gets an update.

68_preview1.gif

Changes:

-Archive file type changed from EXE to ZIP

-mxdrv.dll / X68Sound.dll updated

-Fixed bug concerning desktop window placement and size

-After requests from users, added difficulty selection function ( hard = 3 )

-removed score default-setting function

-changed URL's and mail addresses within the document file (the readme, most likely)

From the Shmups forum.
