But there are shots like that floating around now, and they look great... then we see it running. I bet they dropped the framerate further to push graphics like that, huh?

The game is a victim of its own hype I'm afraid. I didn't think the demo was too bad. The drone-AI blows, seemingly unaware of the players existence. The AA-filters make everything look like how I'd imagine wearing a condom over my head and the lack of decent framerate makes it look jerky as hell at higher speeds. But apart from that, the demo is all right. Better than the NFSU-clones on the market, easily.

edit: I hoped it does improve though, I really do. The demo is solid enough to make a decent game and I'm all for that.

Edge have to use this in a review sometime...please...

Yeah, that brought a smile to my face. I'd PAY to see that in a review!

As for Forza, I'll wait till I hear some comments on the finished game before I pass judgement. If it gets a 7 or above in Edge it'll be an essential purchase for me.

im going for a EDGE 8, As for them pics they are taken from the latest build which has allmost a full year of development on the demo in OXM.

This alone is the sole reason why this game is allmost my number 1 in most wanted.

If it can be this good on the demo just imagine what its like to play now, and judging by them screens im gona say SILKY.

Take PGR2 online and double it, thats how good its gona be, Forza on Live is gona rock.

Anyone interested in having a little fun with the Forza demo in this months OXBM? I was thinking of

best time in the lovely Ferrari 360. My best time so far is 1:38.420 which is rubbish but at least

it'll get the ball rolling. I reckon a sub 1:35 should be fairly easy.

Settings can be any way you like. Personally I like only ABS on, as it allows you to turn and brake simultaneously (despite what someone else has said).

Good Times,

Ill play tonight and see what i can pull out the bag.

I think the demo is about 20 times better with a manual gearbox. At least then you dont go flying off a corner when u floor it....

Wont know until the final version is out, but going buy most of M$ screens from there games you could be correct.

I do know that this game is running insane amounts of AA and AF compared to most Xbox games, but i still think im nudging towards your way of thinking more.

Each car in Forza Motorsport is modeled to accurately simulate real-life performance and will include a feature car enthusiasts have craved since the inception of video game driving simulators…damage.

When gamers scrape the wall at more than 100 mph, the resulting damage will accurately affect the both the look and performance of their car – just like in real life. With adjustable settings that will allow gamers to tweak damage controls, turn anti-lock brakes on or off and choose between manual and automatic transmissions, Forza Motorsport provides a thrilling driving experience for the beginner driver who prefers some assistance as well as for driving experts, who will be rewarded for their skill with a higher career earnings scale.

From import tuners to muscle cars to LeMans prototypes, Forza Motorsport challenges racers to accumulate earnings to tune their rides with upgrades like engine swaps, bolt-on superchargers and suspension kits. Gamers can also “trick-out” their creations with Forza Motorsport’s innovative car customization editor that allows car artists to apply sleek, new paint schemes and upgradeable parts including body kits, rims, spoilers, decals, side skirts, fender flares, hood scoops and decals from more than 150 aftermarket partners.

Forza Motorsport is also fully equipped to allow gamers the ability to showcase their garage work with the best the online world has to offer via Xbox Live. Simultaneous competition with up to eight racers, buying, selling and trading cars, an innovative on and offline “career mode,” and more than 1,700 leaderboards give Forza Motorsport the most complete online driving experience ever offered.

WOW only thing it seems to be missing are Lambo's (Damm you EA) and some more classic 80's cars and maybe a few more Group B's, o well Enzo, CGT, F50, F40, XJ220, CC8S, Zonda and SLR at Nurburgring!!!! Here we come.

OMG do you even know what that car is ? flippin hell that car has so much history.

I bet you drive the new mini, or some shitty korean car by the like of KIA or somthing rubbish along those lines.

Or even worse your a little kid who has never driven before and as such your opinion is void.

Step away from the pc, pull ya pants up, and go talk to someone who cares.

Apart from that its a lotus omega and not a lotus carlton. NEXT.

How can you possibly tell from that screenshot?

Lotus Carlton - RIght hand drive - UK version

Lotus Omega - Left hand drive - European version. Other than that, they are the exact same car.

Vauxhall Carlton = Opel Omega - See? (until of course GM decided to call the Cartlon the Omega over here)

Yeah Peve I'm liking it now. But then it didn't take me long to like it, just a while to get used to the controls. I still brake when I want to change gear sometimes though!

All-in-all I think this is going to be good. I think the game is sufficient in it's handling, graphics and engine noises. I'm sure that GT4's handing will be superior, but Forza's Live aspects make it very desirable in my books. I loved Moto GP2, especially the way you could compare your lap times to your friends' and to everyone else. I could see that getting fairly competitive with my mates.

One thing I don't like is the counter-stear, which seems a little too sensitive. Plus you don't get the same level of feedback from the track that you do in GT. Otherwise I'm impressed. I really hope though, that any damage to your car remains after races so you have to pay to get it repaired. This might help in preventing people from ploughing into each other? Still not sure if you can damage your car through bad driving like you can in GPL.

Come on Peve, what times have you got?

What's all this faffle about 100 player car communities. This game is sounding really awesome, i might have to check out the latest demo to see if it has been de-treaclised from the last time i saw it. Still any game with a 288GTO in it does tickle my balls in a pleasent way. Does anyone know if we can do custom paint jobs on the cars? It's sickening after all this time that Moto GP2 is the only game that lets you make you bike look the way you want it. Heck i'd even buy the piece of wank that is NFSU2 if i could paint my car and show it off online.

Now why aren't MS getting their arse in gear and releasing a decent steering wheel.

You'll be able to tweak the appearance of your car in several ways, including: adjusting the paint hue, adding vinyl, and moving, resizing, spinning, and tilting the decals (which include text) in any way you like. The customization process will have you adding these various elements in layers, and Forza's system features a staggering amount of layers for you to play with.

For example, you'll have about 100 layers to tinker with, for a grand total of 600 layers per car. Cool? Yes. A little insane? Probably. However, the team is clearly making its obsessive-compulsive tendencies work for it--so we can't complain. The robust customization feature will ensure that you will be able to have a one-of-a-kind set of wheels when taking on friends.

MotoGP2 had 8 this has 100.

Still trying to get the hang of the demo but, this is gonna be moto gp in ferraris with knobs on (the side of your car). Fido Dido!

Is it me or is the evo a bit of an understeer whore in forza.

It had a nasty habit of oversteering on the way in, then understeering on the way out.... realistic or not?
