I hope they do a patch for the sound though; the main engine noise is far too quiet. On something like the R32, I can barely pick it out over the damn turbo/supercharger noise >_<

edit: That wheel I ordered DOES have pedals. Nice.

Another thing I like on this one. Normally when you are non-competitive in a race you tend to buy more upgrades so you get more power.

I was doing the restricted horsepower race the over nigh - I think restricted to 200hp, can't remember which card I had, but it was already at 195hp and was coming in last. Actually enjoyed spending the time tightening up the other stuff I could without tweaking the hp, better tyres, braking, faster shifting, massive weight reductions.

I haven't actually fiddled with changing tire pressures and wing settings - that stuff is much to boring for me, but the general customization part is great fun - even for me, who normally hates this stuff.

It does mean I'm spending all my money doing up crappyish cars, instead of saving for something cool. But you seem to start winning much better cars in the level 10 races

same as me!! But I seem to get more satisfaction from getting my car which was initially doing shit, and getting it up to racing standard! B)

For anyone who was aving probs with screen grabber and the bigger HD, there is a new version out for them now! SWEET! Same place as the orginal version to get it.

If anyone could stick it up on send it would be much appreciated!

I find the engibe noise ok. Are you using the external view? Whcih for some reason is quiter. But in car mine is very loud? It drowns out my custom tracks!

Have you used the wheel yet? Im looking forward to a review of it by you, if its good Im gonna get it too.

I'm internal (oo-er). Some cars sound all right, others quiet. I haven't got the wheel yet, it is pending despatch :)

I did have a tweak with the tire pressure but it didn't seem to make much difference. Something like GTR lets you adjust tire pressure per tyre, to achieve optimum grip (and temperature) over the course of a race. The tyres are at optimum use to start with (green) and wear out gradually over a race. Seems like the GT cars work the same too so it I dunno if it really makes a difference; I haven't played it enough to find out. GTR, you know straight away like 'cos its physics match racing more closely. Without those kind of readouts (operating temperature), I guess it doesn't matter too much.

Not that I'm complaining, it's fine how it is. We're talking street-cars, mostly, so we're OK ignoring that side of the physics :P

I'm still kind of determined to get that screen grabber app. to work too *grumble*

You gonna give the new version a shot that has been made available?

Did anyone find out if this is region free?

My US copy is in the UK, I should have it tomorrow all being well. I'll check :)

Syntax, yeah man. I need to clear up the Xbox HDD a bit 'cos there is two versions of xig on there now, some debug files left from the first version I tried. I want it fresh as a daisy so nowt conflicts.

That said, I might capture video footage if anybody is interested?

There is a grip readout, pressure is bound to affect these readings. Awesome. Mine are always on the bleeding edge of the tyre, no wonder the Drivatar corners like a spaz.

It's not that much like PGR2, really, but it's FUN. Which I wasn't expecting at all.

I think it's partly down to the engine noises, the decent AI (god, they're cunts at times) and the "meaty"ness of the cars. You really have to concentrate to get anywhere, but it feels rewarding.

OK, I'll do some audio-less grabs tonight (waiting for some cables... :) ), nice small files sizes. More to come then <_<

Honestly, the more I play, the more I like. It has little bits of this driving game, some of that and it comes together beautifully. The weight is there, they drive nice and the computer offers up a fair challenge.

Forgot the demo and your pre-conceptions. Just buy it already.

Anybody else notice the audio matches the stuff you crash into? Scrape along the metal grill on the docks, hit some tyres and try bouncing off a board. There's loads of little things in the game like this that add to the overall polish.

A site where you can upload some of your Forza designs. Some of them are just insanely creative considering the tools available.

Thats some pretty sweet skidding you have been doing there  ;)

How did you get it in such a nice pattern?

p.s I am so jealous of the screen grabbing.  Im gonna try mine on a disc over the weekend.  Im hoping it works then.  At least I will be able to do it when I get the retail copy.

Of course problem being that my chipped box is banned, so I will need to do different decals for each box  :)

dont suppose you can save decals to memory card, anyone checked?

To the question on the tracks.  I find them very satisfying.  Good mix between race circuits like Silverstone, Nurburgring, and some street races like Times Square New York.  There are also some nice fictional settings like dockyards.

You also have point to point races, instead of just lapping a circuit.  These are really good, and some of them like the downhill ones provide a different challenge.

The draw distance and clarity of image is brilliant, and is really a neccessity in a game like this which demands accurate judging of corners.  Because of this learning the tracks off by heart is not necessary, as you can judge by eye how a corner should be taken.

The trackside detail is amazing.  Best I have ever seen.

Fazz, not sure about the drivertar, not used it, and it doesnt really hold any appeal for me.  IT seems they used it for developing the AI, and just decided to keep it in the game as a curiosity.  IF you could race them online it could of been fun, like horse racing!  But as it stands it doesnt tempt me.

mmm it is quite a nice skid pattern isnt it? heh heh! wow some of those forza designs are just awesome! are they all seriously real????:wacko:

In other news, is anyone playing on a modded box and hoping to switch the save across come LIVE? 'Cos you can't

edit: And this is an image being resized to 852x480 (as I'm using WS)
