The Evil Has Landed. I love cheese metal and stupid lyrics as much as anyone (Gama Bomb :lol:) but that song is fucking horrendous. People talk about Hetfields rhyming nonsense but fucking hell.

I yarred the album last week, every time I've put it on nothings really stood out at all, after vol3 being great I was hoping for something more

I just read the confirmation email, apparently the card you purchased needs to be brought to the gig along with a state issued photo ID. Which I don't have. I'd have a new passport if I wasn't moving next week but when I went to apply for one a bit over a week ago they weren't sure if they'd be able to get it to me in time and so rather than have it delivered to somewhere I will be no longer living at I elected to wait. Which means I can't go :)

But I just spoke to a nice lady from the o2 who said it's not a big deal and that the photo ID I do have will suffice AND that I might not get checked anyway as they only check via random searches. Hooray!

So let's all do drinks. :) And toast Tal, who'll be in Hong Kong ;)

IIRC, there's just one massive entrance which you all go through, into a big area where there's the Indigo2, and merch stalls. Then you obviously head off to your various parts of the arena.

Can't remember if there was a bar before you have to show your tickets (ie, get filtered off). There must be, though.

The O2's off by itself a bit, ie, no pubs nearby, so probably worth swallowing any extortionate prices at the venue, especially considering the price of the tix :(

If anyone gets news of stage times, etc, that'd be great.

This has to be the biggest Metal meet of the forum, hasn't it? Shame we all can't get there...

Commemorating the metal thread meet? Have Metallica been informed that we're going?

I've not been to the O2 but as long as someone can confirm that there's a bar we can use before we're sent elsewhere we should do that.

The tube station (North Greenwich) is 200m from the 02 apparently and this listing: http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/pubsandbars/no...tation-178.html says what's near that, a lot of them are actually bars and restaurants at the O2, but if anyone fancies suggesting something else that might be cool if we're not sure we'll be able to meet up?

Yes, it's definitely the best on the album.

I picked the album up yesterday and after a few listens I'm really disappointed with it. There are one or two reasonable tunes on there, but for the most part I'm finding it boring as hell, and way too long at an hour. It's a pity, as I thought they were really starting to develop something pretty interesting with Subliminal Verses. It's not awful, but i can't imagine it'll be gracing my CD player very often.

Bars and restaurants at the O2

Loads of places in the outer ring of the dome, before you actually have to hand over your ticket to get in the arena.

Most of them look like poncy curry houses, etc, and will be outrageously priced. I'll be eating summat on the tube, and will only be interested in beer.

There's a Slug&Lettuce. Again, poncy and overpriced, but at least you know that it's a bar, and they won't try and sit you down or anything.

Or there's the Ha Ha bar & grill, which is in slot 32 - furthest away from the main entrance, so maybe easier to get served.

I dunno - don't want to make a decision and get shot down if it's shit!
