Looks nice and frentic, I wish they'd brighten up the levels though. I remember the Armoured Core on the PS1 having some nice sunny levels in fields with trees to blow the fuck out of and such.

That's just the video quality, the levels are crisp and bright. If you liked the first Armored Core then check out the PAL release of Armored Core 3, they are very similar in terms of gameplay feel.
