What you've described there is just the same as what Channel 4 and Sky did, so even if they do what you've suggested, it won't be any worse than what we've received so far.

Although, the smart peeps will be downloading the uncut episodes fresh off Bittorrent and getting the DVD's.

Be fair. After a shaky start, BBC2 generally treated the Simpsons very well, even showing The Cartridge Family (an episode Sky have still never shown). The BBC also seem to have the rights to repeat the first three seasons of Family Guy - they were scheduled to appear around 7pm on Sunday nights a few months ago, only to disappear from the listings before the Radio Times appeared.

As for all the "The Simpsons are moving to Channel Four!" labels on the assorted Simpsonia, I like them as they're a clear attempt to wind up Sky One - it clearly implies they're moving from Sky to C4, even though they aren't.
