And The Worst Film Of 2004 Goes To..

Hello Goaty ♥

Recommended Posts

we went to the cinema to watch another film, but it was not on at that time, so we thought what the hell we will watch this instead.

OMG how bad was it, it was a launch weekend and there was only 6 people in the cinema watching it when we went.

It is by far the worst film ever made, Surely someone here has seen it as well.

Underwurld was poor. It was just too long, and...crap. Not even a FIIIINE Katie B could bring it round.

It's the sort of film you'd enjoy as a book, I think. Well enjoy a bit.

Kill Bill...I also agree. Overhyped CRAP. It was just a Tarantino froth fest, as he lathered himself up with his own ego and love for OOOOMAAA. Utter rubbish.

Hahaha OMG! I've met daniel k who the film's about. He was very nice but we had to speak through an interpreter. Why would anyone want to kill him?

You lot obviously do not know what rubbish films are :

I agree with this comment. Yeah some of those films ain't the best but the worst films of the year?!!! Bloodyhell everyones a critic! :)

It just goes to show though that everyone is so different. So many of you saying Kill Bill was shit while theres so many people who love it. Horses for course i suppose in the end.

I think the worst film I can remember watching this year was Godsend but then it was still watchable.

Blade Trinity, by far.

Awwwwww, it's not that bad. I quite enjoyed it actually, though it's clearly lacking decent direction, the trademark comic book over kill is still there, and Snipes keeps everything grounded. Blade 2 is still the better film, but this ties things up respectfully.

Thinking how utterly poorly Hellboy turned out, it's such a shame Guillermo Del Toro didn't return to the directors chair for Trinity.

As an aside Crispin, did you enjoy the previous Blade films?

She's one of the sexiest women in the world imo and Kill Bill 2 was superb. Yes, I am a total Tarantino fan-boy, I love him he's soooo cool, I'm not blinkered one bit!!11 Not a bad film yet.

Hmmm

MThe worst film of 2004 has to be Torque surely...

In an office full of motorcycle riders not a single person has anything good to say about a film which sees people riding through the woods flat out on road bikes, for example......

Making a film about motorbikes and then defying the laws of physics etc, and obviously never actually having ridden one of the things, has to be a serious contender...

Van Helsing.

Not "the worst film" per se, but pissing $150 million down the drain on such an execrably written and poorly directed pile of shite, should be punished accordingly by Sommers' death.

$150 million :):(

Sweeeet Jeeesus, where the hell did the money go. I found the film shockingly average in the action stakes, a thousand times more so when you consider Blade 2 was made for just over a third of Van Helsing.

I respect him as a person and as a director. Does that make me a fan boy? It gives me something to look forward to doesn't it?

No. And I can normally take Vin Diesel too.

Even his "fans" stayed away from this one IIRC.

I don't mind Vin Diesel at all - imo Pitch Black was a classic, The Chronicles of Riddick was half decent and The Fast and the Furious was fairly enjoyable. A Man Apart was just downright crap.

On a worst film of the year note I have Underworld and Godsend sitting here both unwatched. Unsure whether or not to risk it going by this thread. ;)

I enjoyed Underworld. It ends with a sequel not just in the air, but contracted to be made.

BTW, the sequel is being made at the moment!

Awwwwww, it's not that bad.

It clearly is. No redeeming qualities at all. Even the token goth hottie was a snotty, Apple pimping embarrassment.

As an aside Crispin, did you enjoy the previous Blade films?

I thought the first one was a bit self-conscious and juvenile, in that it tried far too hard to be cool, but it was far from bad. A 6 out of 10, decent-enough-if-forgettable action movie. Didn't see the second one.

Do you know what it is yet?...

Ok, so it was released last year, but I only saw it a few months ago. Gaming related sequel shitness galore!

That's Tomb Raider. :(

I really like the first one! Although I totally despise the incomprehensible sequel. I could watch Angelina Jolie is literally anything but Tomb Raider 2 was rubbish. Come to think of it, The Bone Collector starring the brillant Denzel Washington and Miss Jolie was a bit of a turkey to. ;)

AVP for me, a total waste of two of the best scifi creatures in movie history. Somebody at fox needs shooting for letting Anderson write and direct it.

o/\o

It took loads of money at the American box office so this type of shit will keep happening.

Do you remember the early torrents of AvP? Stupid Americans cheering throughout fight scenes. ;)

As with most films, if you don't buy into the central theme and style of it all, your bound to come away disappointed. You either buy into Blades world or you don't, and don't get me wrong, it's not an easy world to take at face value and enjoy, but if you thought the first film was worth a six, you'd probably hate the second infinitely more, and it's perfectly understandable that the third has left you completely cold. Horses for courses and all that, but I love the pomposity of it all, coupled with the completely over the top nature of the characters and the very premise. Personally I find the first two Blade films to be the pinnacle of the genre (comic book action) but as I say, their style is something you either smirk at or go with, and for those who go with it, it completely delivers on all fronts.
