Evil Dead Remake!

Everybody moaned about the remake to Dawn of the Dead and that turned out ok, just wait until it gets made as it could end up being completley different to the original.

Visionary Director Zack Snyder's only semi decent film, and even then it was 'OK'. Also

Wait a sec, you have a property where the character most associated with it has the rare case of having a unisex name, but when they decided to change the gender they change the name anyway. Talk about missing an open goal.

Fucksake.

Pretty graphic stuff - must be the R-rated trailer. Does seem to be putting blood & gore over scares, though this is a teaser trailer so I shouldn't really make that call yet. Doesn't look bad though.

Edit: Should have finished with Ash busting through the door.

Christ that looks gorey, especially the end of the trailer with the tongue. Looks like they kept the tree raping scene too. I really hope this is good.

Needs more Ash though. Even if he is old, just have him come back through the portal at the end with the shotgun and chainsaw to save the day. Fuck the continuity if it means more Ash :-).

I hardly think continuity has been a major concern for the Evil Dead series :

Evil Dead: group of teenagers go into the woods. Read from a book. Bad shit happens. They all die.

Evil Dead 2: The first film is remade into the first 10 mins of the sequel, but only Ash and his girlfriend go to the cabin. At the end, his hair gets a white streak, he goes back in time and is celebrated as being a hero from legend.

Army of Darkness: he does indeed go back in time but he isn't celebrated, he is captured and thrown into a pit to die...

Continuity indeed

I mean the fact that in AOD he went to sleep and depending on the ending he either slept for a century too long or he goes back to packing groceries. So they could just kinda ignore those endings

But yeah youre right, there isnt any continuity with ED so they could easily have Ash show up at the end.

Campbell isn't listed in the acting credits (He does produce the flick with Sam Raimi though) but if he is showing up for a cameo, they'd want to keep it a secret I imagine. I know they recently stopped an unofficial Evil Dead 4 from happening.

I imagine he isn't gonna cameo in it but I don't think they would credit him cause they'd wanna keep his cameo a secret.

I predict him having a cameo but as a gas station/diner owner where they stop on the way to the cabin.

Proper one might be attached to Paranormal Activity 4 this weekend. It'd make sense, though probably wouldn't be quite the same trailer as the Comic-Con one (though no doubt that will turn up at some point as a Red Band trailer)
