.::: In that respect it's much more rewarding yes. Also for music-freaks;

The underwater segment of Torvus Bog has the Brinstar Red theme from Super Metroid! Just what I needed, amazing what a piece of music can do to your mood.

i wonder how long it'll take for the soundtrack to arrive on the net. primes st was amazing!

Seems marginally better than the chocolates we got a few weeks back... Nice thought, but a bit ehm... childish?

reading all the stuff people ar saying about the game, im suppose its ok that dvdbo shipped it. still though, should i tell them that i am pissed off seeing as they got my emails well in advance telling them to ship it?

.::: Of course, after all it's not like you cancelled at the last moment. They should've responded.

Is it Majora's Metroid like we thought it would be?

.::: Hmm, it still fits the bill best. I'm really in doubt at the moment of the overall package. It's not as bad, but it's not as good either. Sometimes it has brilliantly new stuff like the new morph ball environments, but at other times it 's just recycling. It's a rather odd mixture.

The game also starts out heavily 'scripted' and suddenly you're thrown into the open scavenging stuff. It really seems to be in two minds about everything. It doesn't captivate me like Prime did though.

I'm really at a loss as what to think of it.

.::: Almost instant RSI because of some boss where my missiles went to zero.

It's at its best at these events though. It's bastardly hard at those points, and each time I just past it by the skin of my teeth.

Majora's Metroid Fusion then?

.::: It's a matter of finding the pattern. They're rather clever this time around with bosses, so even when you do figure it out there's still some skill involved. And lo, that's exactly what I was searching... Instead of having such skills in the puzzles and the exploration, it seems to have been transfered into the puzzles and the *combat*. Rather odd, but then again, maybe the only choice the formula had in 3D.

Still, I fear for the backlash this is going to generate, because...

...one of the enemies is called Blogg. Some kind of giant demonised swimming screw with three jaws. It'll try to ram you Ridley-stylee and you need to dodge it AND fire a missile in it's mouth at the very same split-second before it opens its mouth. Of course it'll only open its mouth when it's about at an arms length away of you.

I had to try the boss Alpha Blogg three times before I finally got the timing right, with each time requiring a 5-10 minute track from the last save point... If you can't handle that kind of stuff, bail out NOW because even it's normal enemies will sometimes require that kind of dexterity and perseverance.

To those still there, welcome aboard. And if you're gonna cry, at least cry as a woman. Now to fully adjust my mindset to this.

Thanks for the warning. The bosses were the main thing I didn't like about the previous game as they just got in the way of all the fun I was having exploring and playing with the new toys/abilities I picked up. They took me too long and the trudge back to them was a real chore. That being the case, I'm reluctantly gonna pass.

Oooh, a challenge. If I can beat the Nightmare comfortably, this should be no problem, right?

.::: He's only 2D. ;) But I think you'll cope just fine. If Omega Pirate and Meta Ridley were dead-ends for you, then you may want to rent or try the game first.

I beat Meta Ridley first time, but it took me like 40 minutes to do. It was a skin of the teeth thing. If any of the bosses make you feel as good as you do after just clinching the fight against Meta Ridley, that'll be worth the entrance fee alone.

Except if there's a fucking drone gun just behind the next door.
