So, this is released today. No amount of repeat clicking on Videogames+ tells me it's been dispatched.

More waiting, anticipating, things I may never possess, try a little tenderness...

More to the point, I hope this gets to me by the weekend. I honestly can't believe we've had halo2, HL2 and MP2 in a week. Sheer madness.

I'll be picking up the PAL version next Thursday. Grainger Games just don't give a shit about breaking release dates. :ph34r:

And before the massive Halo 2/Metroid Echoes fight breaks out, who would win between the Space Pirates and the Covenant? <_<

I don't think anybody cares about Metroid Prime 2, maybe we could create some interest by making this the "official thread" may as well contain the hate in one place.

If you care so much about HL2 then why the fuck are you on a forum instead of playing it?

Well I have this on preorder from Gameplay, so I should be playing it come the 25th :ph34r:

I think the general lack of excitement is partially down to the type of game it is. I mean with Halo 2 and GTA San Andreas there's more of an adrennaline rush involved, fighting against insurmountable odds or going on crime sprees. Metroid is all about the atmosphere, and a more restrained thrill of the unknown.

Anyway, it's going to be great I think.

Halo 2 - well do I need to say anything really?

Metroid Prime 2 - will I still need to hold a button in just to look up and down? will I get RSI again? will it still look and feel lovely but frustrate me at every oppertunity? yes?

I'm sorry but the interface, whilst understandable and perfectly argued by everyone at the time (ie suitable to its play mechanic) actually hurt. The first game sucked me in and broke my wrists. I aint going there again.

As anyone who has battered me on Halo 2 on Live can probably confim.

The look and lock method is a winner for MP.

Considdering the ammount of acrobatics required during combat the lock on is pretty much a necessity.

I'll be buying the PAL version, but seeing as its released the same day as XBox PES4 theres a good chance Metroid wont get played for a while.

I think I'll keep it as my Xmas game. My US copy of MP made a great atmospheric Xmas game when it came out a few years ago...

WOO! My copy has been dispatched from VG+, and based on previous orders it should be here Friday or Saturday, both of which I have off work! :angry:

I'll be honest, i've not really been looking forward to it to much, but reading this thread has got my anticipation sky high, WOOP! :lol:

I think the controll system works just perfect.

This isn't a fp-shooter. the discussion if the cube needs a high profile is fp-shooter to battle halo half life 2 and killzone, is perhaps a sound discussion, but not to be held here.

Can't wait until it comes. Mp was bliss, maybe this'll be bliss too.
